Favorite/least Christmas song?
So..... what's everyone's favorite and least favorite Christmas songs? Granted by the end of the season you pretty much end up hating them all.
My favorite(s) would probably be a tie between Silverbells and Christmas Can-Can by Straight No Chaser (because it's painfully true and hilarious).
Least Favorite: Feliz Navidad. Because I live in SW AZ people think it's hilarious to play it ALL THE TIME.

I love many, many Christmas songs so it is hard to pic a favorite. I do adore Little Drummer Boy, the original Chipmunk Christmas Song (don't be late), and the upbeat version of White Christmas. Was it by The Drifters? I think so.
I despise Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. I would shoot that song, if I could.

I can't pinpoint one song in particular but most of the songs I like are indie, motown, and jazz. I like the really fun ones and some of the more sentimental ones too. But if I had to pick one I think it would be any of the Vince Guaraldi Trio music.
I hate any pop remakes or new stuff. Nsync's one is an example. I am probably one of the few who hates "All I Want for Christmas is You". Christina Aguilera's Christmas stuff is pretty annoying. All are in regular rotation at work.

Favorite - Carol of the Bells, Adeste Fidelis, Hallelujah Chorus, and the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.
Least favorite - The Christmas Shoes. Emotionally manipulative glurge, and its fans tend to try to make on feel heartless for not liking it.

I have several but my top two would be "Oh Holy Night" & "Mary Did you know?" Believe it or not CeeLo Green has a rendition of "Mary...." that is amazingly beautiful.

To add, in general, I like songs that are sung in a church-y choir style as long as they aren't overdone the way the Mormon Tabernacle Choir tends to do.

I love most of the old classics. I especially like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and The Christmas Song. Ella Fitzgerald's original Christmas album is awesome and I highly recommend it.
I can't stand Santa Baby, Do They Know it's Christmas, and Same Old Lang Syne.

I love Arthur Fiedler's "Sleigh Ride." I like "All I Want For Christmas (is you)," which is weird, because it absolutely seems like something I would loathe. My husband thinks it's because "Love, Actually" is one of my favorite Christmas movies.
"I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas," "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," Madonna's version of "Santa Baby," and anything by Taylor Swift are unbearable.

Go Tell It On The Mountain by Harry Simeone Chorale. It has been my favorite since I was a kid. I have the record
My least favorite is probably Silver Bells or that 80's sounding Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime song. Ugh.

Haha! I love the Eartha Kitt Santa Baby version. Makes me feel all warm and snugly
I can't think of a song I really dislike, but a Christmas station on XM has been playing a Rod Stewart version of My Favorite Things that creeps me out a wee bit!

Ha! Try getting away from it here! They air the freaking MoTab (what we call the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) on the TV for their Christmas special. Usually guaranteed to include a high E in every song. Nothing says Christmas like a bunch of old ladies singing at a range most people don't have a hope of hitting. And I actually sang with them once. Gah!
Favorite: Don't really have one as I'm not terribly fond of Christmas.
Least: Santa Baby. Gag. Nobody sounds good singing that puktastic song.

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.
No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

It's just not Christmas without Aaron Neville's Soulful Christmas, Vince Vance & the Valiant's All I Want For Christmas Is You, and Dwight Yoakam's Come On Christmas because those are the songs my mom plays over and over and over from Thanksgiving WELL past NYE.

I could handle them if they just had fewer sopranos. That's all I hear! I like some balance.

I was always told the rule was to have half as many sopranos as other parts because the high pitches can overpower everybody else. I think I might have heard something about deep bass's needing half the amount of others because of the deepness of the part resonates. So why do people who have doctorate degrees in music and a bazillion years of experience not understand they don't all need to be even? Because good hell, unless they're adding half the alto's into the soprano seating, they're about dead even.
Not to mention that where they're usually singing live has acoustics so good you can hear a paper rip all the way at the back. The new place, I'm not so sure about, but since it was built by the church and can seat a bazillion people and probably cost a bazillion dollars and takes up an entire city block, I'm guessing they put just as much work into the acoustics. You don't have to sing so loud...we were always told in choir to sing about half as loud as you think you need to or actually do...voices carry...a lot. Seriously, if I learned this in high school, shouldn't other people with doctorate's know this?
