You should be able to shower the next day.

And I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I know you'll be do great! You'll be really sore at the incision site at first, but that will pass & you'll be as good as new. Better. Best wishes!

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.
Best wishes for a quick, successful surgery and a speedy recovery! I'll be thinking of you.

Ok guys....I'm alive....feel like crap...but I'm alive! Went into surgery about 7:30-8am woke up about 10:30. They said I talked to dr....but I don't remember. All I know I heard they the grapevine. That surgery went well...no uterus...don't think I got any transfused blood. Dr will probably come see me later I'm told. Also probably won't be going home till Wednesday. I'm on all clear liquid diet all today...so I'm starving which I guess is a good sign. I also felt like I was leaking...I have a catheter in so I'm not peeing....but a dr or nurse keeps checking and doesn't see anything significant do I guess it's just intermittent discharge which I guess is normal.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Thanks guys. It seems I may miss the most of the dreaded "swellybelly" since it was abdominal. I'll just have to do everything slowly. Also they are aware of the fact that the Percocet did nothing really for me...drs will try me on other stuff to see what works for when I go home

It's good to hear you are recovering and had a successful surgery. Get lots of rest, take it easy, but walk around when they make you--it helps.

Get lots of rest. The getting up first time will be hard...make sure you have a nurse with you when you do.

Dr told me no shower for probably 2 more days..good thing I brought my shower comb spray bottle a SheaMoisture smoothie...so I can get the tangles out. I will be eating real food today...I can have coffee with cream....and will be walking. Think they will remove catheter. I also hear stomach gurgling so I think my intestines are waking up.

I'm so happy you're okay and things are going well! Hooray!

Ah, I remember well the catheters. I'm not a good sick person and the few times they've had to put a catheter in, it was like World War Two. I am not pleasant when I feel sick and especially when I have a catheter. They kept arguing that I might not make it to the bathroom in time or know I need to go to the bathroom. Honey...believe me, I'm plenty old to know when I need to pee. And if I have to get to the bathroom doing an army crawl to get the catheter out, I will make it to the bathroom in time.

Sorry for my little rant!

Do you have enough to entertain you? That was the worst part of everything...trying to keep from pulling my hair out from boredom and trying to keep the "tech's" from bursting into your room ever 2 hours, flipping on the lights of eternal retina scarring and taking blood or whatever the heck it is they do. And trying to be quiet around you AFTER they turned on the lights of eternal retina scarring. I'm pretty sure I'm awake and not going back to sleep while you have those spotlights on, so get it done and don't pretend like you think I'm alseep.

Can you tell I'm usually released pretty quickly? Wanna take some hints and use them? I don't care!

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.
Lol...I'm actually trying to stay longer...my stomach is killing me...and since I'm going home to my house alone there is no rush. My iPhone is keeping me entertained. Between here...Facebook and HysterSisters..I'm ok. My bowel apparently haven't woken up yet...and I'm not leaving until they do. I got friends to text and sleep to get. I'm sure I'll make it. Thanks tho

Hopefully your bowels start moving soon, because if they don't, they'll make them and it's not pleasant. My dad had me sneak him like a whole box of Fiber One bars. When that still didn't work (seriously how can those things NOT work?!), "extreme" measures had to be taken before they would release him.

I did just have surgery yesterday...so the dr doesn't seem too worried. I've been doing laps around the hall a few times so I know I can get up and move slowly...which is a relief. I can bend (slowly) which is good cause I can reach things in low cabinets and set my cats food on the floor. Boy do I miss her...it's only been a day..I really miss my Pudge tho. I wanna get in the shower...I know I can't be long but it'll make me feel better. The nurses keep telling me...u just had surgery yesterday...this is normal. I feel better than I did yesterday..and dr did take my bandage off..the scar is very low and neat looking...tender but not unbearable. Right now I feel like most of my pain is coming from being backed up. I have a heating pad to lay on and one for my belly at home so I think that will help.

Yeah, waiting for those bowels to start working can be a pain, literally. Make sure you get lots of fluids and keep up with that walking, good job! I can also understand wanting to stay longer, do if you can. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.
