My bf's mom got me a ipad mini for Christmas and I love it. It's the wifi only one but it hasn't been a problem except when I'm riding in the car and want to look something up, but then I use my phone. I'm gonna get a keyboard case for it soon so I can use it for school and such.

It's cheaper to just pay for a data plan for your iPad.

I have the wifi only iPad, though, so that's not an option.

I bought myself the Kindle Fire HD for Christmas and I love it. I am still learning how to use it. I have an iPhone 5, so between the two of them I can do anything I need to do.

Oh, okay. I thought you were suggesting RCC do something like that. It would be easier and cheaper in the long run to just get an iPad with wifi + cellular.

Hubby loves his iPad, but I want something I can carry in my purse. I want either a kindle/nook or ipad mini. I want to be able to read books and it's too hard on my iphone 4s. I'll probably go with the ipad mini because we already share all the apps, etc and I can sync with my iphone and laptop.

My hubby has a PC in his office, I have an Apple desk top and the new IPad with retina display, I really like the IPad.
My husband has the Blackberry tablet but he prefers the IPad so I think he is going to buy one for himself now and hopefully he will leave mine alone!
I have a Kindle but I don't even use it, I realized that I prefer having the actual novel that way I can lend out my books and add them to my constantly growing library. I do have books uploaded to my I pad but they are mostly psychology texts and a few classics.

Thanks, folks.
I'll probably go with the iPad. The lack of Flash (Adobe, not drive) is annoying, but since it affects newer Android platforms as well, I may as well stick with what I know.
I'll get the biggest memory since I've filled up my 64g phone twice.
Not sure whether to get the wifi only or not. This will primarily be for home use, and am not sure if I want an extra monthly charge for 'just in case' when I can use my iPhone in that kind of situation.

For those who don't want to carry two devices...I just got the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone/tablet hybrid and I love it! And you can download a free flash player for it.
It's about the size of an ipad mini.

To me ipad mini is significantly larger. I have one and I'm looking at my coworkers note 2 right now and it looks much smaller. It depends on what you're using it for. My ipad mini is cool but I think I might prefer the ipad for size.
Note 2 -
5.95 x 3.17 x 0.37 in
Weight 0.40 pound
Ipad mini -
7.87 x 5.3 x .28
Weight: 0.68 pound

My other coworker thought they were close as well so we just had this discussion too.
Here's a visual if anyone's interested -

I got my iPad Friday, and am loving it so far. The retina display is nice on this screen size. I splurged for the 128gb cellular capable one. I fill up my 64gb phone, so the extra space is nice, and the cellular capability makes it more portable, which is worth the monthly add-on for me.

I was comparing the Ipad to the Ipad mini this weekend and if I were going for it (which I am probably not) I would definitely get the Ipad for the retina display. The difference is the screen was like night and day.

I'm glad you like it! My husband uses a browser called Puffin when he needs Flash on his iPad. I haven't tried it yet but he says it's fine--slow but fine.
