My husband got the S3 in October and he likes it, he doesnt have any complaints. He has a few co workers that have the iphone 4 and 5 have complained about screen freeze and other stuff and a few that love there phones and have no complaints a couple have switced and got android phones. Not all are on the same plans so that might play into problems one might have. I think over all both phones are nice in their own way. My husband works at a coal dock and he has his phone in an otterbox to give added protection in case he should drop his. Now I was due for an upgrade and was looking at S3 and iphone5 at the same time he got his phone. After doing a little research and comparisons and playing with the diffrent phones, I decided insted to pre ordered the Galaxy Note 2.I got it November 28 and I must say this phone does a lot. I really use the duel screen option a lot. I did not pre judge the phone based on the nagitive things people say about its size either and I am a tiny lady not even 5 feet. This phone is amazing! And I have yet to drop my phone like I am prone to do with my other phones I have had in the past. Over all I am in LOVE with this phone lol

I've never had a Droid phone before. I started with an iPhone 3g and stuck with iPhones. I also have a Mac that I sync to at home. My husband has a PC, though, and I don't think he's had any problems.
Gekko just switched from a string of Droid phones to an iPhone 5. She says she loves her iPhone but I don't know exactly what's better about it. Maybe she'll post when she's back online in a couple days.

The iphone5 looks soooo tiny.
I like big. I am almost considering the Samsung Note (the biggest cell phone ever).

I'm slightly interested in it, too.
Dual screen??
I want a big screen, fast page load, as few bugs as possible.
What's an otterbox? And do they come in cool colors? LOL

My coworker got the note 2 and she loves it. She definitely appreciates the bigger screen. If I didn't need to carry my phone in my pocket I would obviously prefer a bigger screen. I like my iphone 4, the size is just right. I'm worried how the iphone 5 is going to fit since its bigger.

The otterbox is a case that is a virtual tank. Well... at least the one my dad has is.
They have colored otterboxes as well. My NSSO has the HTC One X and her otterbox is navy and black. Not quite the tank that my father has for his iPhone but very protective.
They aren't cute, they are protective.

I was talking to this IT geek I work with who I heard had previously owned a Droid and now has the iphone5.
So I asked which he likes better. And this condescending little puck told me, "you might be able to learn how to use a droid if you got one. But if you're worried about not being able to figure it out, you'd better stick to the iphone...bc it's so basic and simple."
You arrogant little pitstain: I have owned a droid since a month after they were first released. And managed to figure out how to use it pretty easily, thank you very much.
But chalking one up on the Galaxy side, iphones don't use memory cards. Ugh, don't like that. I want to keep my memory card full, instead of trying to transfer them to itunes.

I've got the Note 2 and it's nice. But then again I'm am totally biased towards Google and Android. But I hate TouchWiz, Samsung's Android overlay, but that's because I prefer pure Android.
I will say that Apple's stuff just works, that's what's great about it. If you've owned Android phones you know they aren't perfect and are subject to glitches/bugs.
That said, the Galaxy S 3 is a stable and slick device. My only concern is that it's old (it launched in June 2012) and they are rumors of a Galaxy S 4 coming out this spring.
Personally, if I had to choose right now between my Note and the iPhone, I'd go with the iPhone ONLY because of the apps and camera.

I did make the switch. I love my iPhone, I was worried there would be a learning curve, but I hit the ground running with it and haven't had any problems.
I wanted to share pictures with my Dad, so I just connected my iPhone to his computer (PC) and he was able to upload them without any problems. I wasn't able to sync my contacts like I would have had I kept the Android system, but my contacts did transfer, just not their phone numbers.
I was torn between it and the GS3 and I ultimately decided I didn't want a phone as big as the GS3.

I have an S3. DH has an iPhone5. We're both happy with our phones.
Size was a big part of the decision - I don't own a tablet and carry my phone in my handbag, so I wanted a big screen. I actually regret not getting the Note. DH on the other hand wanted a phone he could carry in his pocket and use with one hand, so the iPhone5 works for him.
He likes the ability to synch all his Apple products. I haven't felt that I'm missing anything - I use Dropbox and Google Calendar and Gmail.
I don't think you can go wrong with either phone.

Oh, no, not you. Yours should transfer over with no problems.
There was something wrong with my phone and none of my stored stuff would transfer over. That's only because my phone was a piece of ****.

I played around w/ the Note2 last night and I'm going to get it this wknd!! It seems way ahead of everything else out there and the reviews are really good.
I've already bought the Otterbox (last one in the store).
It's big but not grotesquely so, as it is sometimes implied.
Before it even occurred to me to look at the Note2, I had been trying to expain to a friend that the main feature on my current phone I would want improved upon is the notes app...bc I am so tired of carrying all kinds of notebooks and folios and planners and random scraps of paper, etc. to different mtgs and activities and then losing track of them or bringing the wrong one to a foloow up mtg or whatever. Or just getting caught out there, unexpectedly, needing to jot down some notes or sketch something and not having anything to do it w/.
Well, duh! There is an awesome phone on the market that specializes in exactly that.
But I always have my phone w/ me.
And now I won't ever feel I'm missing out by not having a tablet (i don't want to carry two devices w/ me.)
Have you ever lost your stylus?
Yes, I think I will really enjoy this phone! Thnx for the review.

Please come back and tell us what you think of it - I have many friends looking at it and thinking about it, too - so I'd love to have some real input!
Thanks

Oh I am so glade that you went and tested it out! The size of the Note 2 is not really a draw back once you see what this phone can do!! I am so very pleased that I have this phone and I would be kicking myself if I had passed it up, I am glad that I am one to research anything I buy first because i would of missed out had I not. I think you are going to be very happy once you have it and play around with all the features. Make sure to check out Samsung US | TVs ? Tablets ? Smartphones ? Cameras ? Laptops ? Refrigerators once you get your phone and register it. I have learned so much more about the features of the phone on this site.
I have never lost or misplaced my stylus because there is an option on the phone that if you leave the stylus setting out , the phone reacts to let you know you forgot it.

I'm with Bell
I have nothing good to say about them, except we're on a corporate plan through DH's work and its a great deal.
My happiest days were with Fido! I'd stick with them.
