kourtney k's unretouched post preg tummy

Like Tree42Likes

i picked this up because i'm so curious how she lost the weight. maybe it's surgery. anyway when i looked at the cover i saw it said this photo is not retouched. do y'all buy it? her skin looks flawless, her tummy is smooth, no stretch marks nothing. this months after her second baby. i know she's younger, maybe has good genes. just curious. btw, i haven't read the article yet. my friend who had a baby last year exploded that she doesn't have a full time job and she has a trainer, etc.

This is so unnecessary, honestly. Like great for her, but even if she didn't have surgery she obviously had to go through a strenuous workout/diet regimen which is not realistic for most women with newborn babies. Why does there have to be so much coverage about women's bodies after they've given birth?
yeah, i was sort of torn on this. i don't normally read this mag but i'll admit, it pulled me in. i was curious about what she had to say. it might be encouraging to some women who think they can't get their bodies back. of course it could discourage moms who struggle.

Untouched doesnt mean nothing was done. Makeup, lights and angles make a difference. Not saying that ahem doesn't look good or that i even care. Just tossing it in

Like sorry, I just don't get it.
If I was pregnant I would dance under a thousand suns because you're pretty much in the clear on the judgement of having a belly like santa claus, except by other pregnitos. I've noticed they're like in their own world. Judging other fellow pregnants. I watch from afar.

Pregnancy is a whole different universe.

they're all like omg I gained 30 lbs from being pregnant. and I'm here like, I just gained 30 lbs from not being pregnant.....

K I'm done.

I'll admit I'm jealous, sometimes in places, I'll lean back and hold my belly like I'm 3 months (or whatever Iooono) pregnant, but really its just gas.

before this thread gets way out of the way i wasn't trying to offend or upset anyone by showing this. i just wondered if y'all thought it was real or a sham. i heard the k-clan got $250K for this cover and story.

Oh, I didn't think you were. I just think it's unfair to women that these stories are constantly printed.

I've seen people who've had babies and their stomachs recover pretty easily.

but..... she could make her stomach look that nice with cream or rich items that only the rich can afford, and then take a photo without touching it up. HAH.
it seems like in general people love to see a big transformation story. the biggest loser and the annual people mag showing people who lost "half their size" are all in the same vain. the more shocking the transformation from what a person used to be to what they are now the more people want to see and hear what was done. many of those stories involve women but there are some men in their too. i personally find it encouraging to see women get fitness back after pregnancy when done in a healthy and safe manner.

I agree with others here who are saying that it's unfair to most people. Yeah, if I had a bajillion dollars from being on a crappy show and inheriting a lot of money from my father and was living with someone who is a trust fund baby, I'd be able to pay for a hardcore trainer and personal chef or nutritionist or whatever.

I do have to say that I MIGHT agree that these photos are unretouched. They might have some makeup on it or whatever, but look at her before (the pregnancy) picture. There don't seem to be stretch marks there and she wasn't too terribly big in that picture, so I could believe that she bounced back.

For anybody, I say rock on with your bad self. I found Kourtney's stretch marks and have never been pregnant in my life. Meh, it's my body, the only one I'm getting, so I may as well be happy with the fabulousness that is me.

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.
Side note: when Nap85(youtuber) was pregnant she said that her doctor said for the pregnancy that she only needed to eat an extra 200-300 calories and that this is the normal for most pregnant women. She looks to still be about the same size I don't know if her belly is back to its same position, but she said that whole eating for two thing is kind of a sham. So from what she said, because I have never been pregnant, if Kourt stuck to only eating an extra 200-300 calories it might have not been as hard for her to whip her body back into shape.

I was surprised not to see a lina negra.

She does look good. Even with all the riches in the world, it takes work. Kudos for her to have the discipline to look the way she wants to.

I don't see it as unfair. My self esteem and post pregnancy body is not wrapped up in what someone else does or doesn't do. My journey (albeit longer) is my own.

I wouldn't put it past anyone to lie about the retouching, but it could be true. Some people really do just have the genes to recover quickly from pregnancy like that (I honestly think it's like 20% work, 80% dumb luck when it comes to post-pregnancy bodies). I know plenty of women with no stretch marks or extra skin.

I think it could definitely be real. Some women just bounce back physically from pregnancy very quickly. Genetics play a big role, I think--I lost my pregnancy weight within a few months and was in very good shape, but my tummy still has stretch marks and some skin that's not tight. I don't think that's ever going away without plastic surgery (which I've considered).
I know plenty of women who have had babies and have no stretch marks and have flat tummies. My friend has three kids and after her third one, was wearing her old slim-fitting nonmaternity dress 5 days after the delivery. Plenty of women don't need to do any exercise to regain their pre-preg bodies. And some can bust their behinds for the rest of their lives and never come close.

The only celebrity post-pregnancy story I really liked was on Kate Hudson who basically said "look, I ate way too much, but it's my job to look good, so I worked out with a professional trainer full time and had someone preparing the right food for me to eat." Pointing out that for most people that was unrealistic and it was because it was her job that she did it and looked so good so quickly.

I'm not saying some women don't lose it naturally. My mom was very thin and she said she didn't keep any extra weight after both pregnancies.
But that doesn't mean there isn't unfair pressure on women to look just like they did before pregnancy in a short amount of time.

I can't even judge whether she looks "good" or not because even if the photo is actually not retouched (unlikely), they most certainly used makeup, lighting, etc to her advantage. There's a site that I visited while I was still pregnant to see real women's post-pregnant bodies and it helped me to feel a lot better about what was happening to my own. Each photo entry was usually accompanied by thoughts/feelings from the mom on her body. Here it is for anyone who's curious: The Shape of a Mother
