K is 6 today. He is the youngest of my 4 children. I feel very blessed to have such children. So far this morning, we have scrambled eggs for breakfast and then baked a chocolate cake and sang the birthday song a bunch, probably nearing double digits! Later, we will put chocolate icing on the cake, then sprinkles, a big green number 6 candle and those sugar letters to spell out HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELL. What he doesn't know is he wanted a Mario cake but none of the bakeries have any Mario stuff so he thinks he isn't getting a Mario cake. But I found Mario on a motorcycle in the toy section at Walmart yesterday and after he went to bed last night, I washed all the pieces in hot soapy water, dried them and assembled them. So this will also be on top of his cake: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

Happy Birthday to Kell! I remember when you had him and were missing from the board and we were all so worried about you. I still had your address from sending you samples of hair products, so I wrote to you and you wrote back and enclosed his birth announcement. That seems so, so long ago. And the funny thing is that you had him on my birthday - today is mine too.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Happy Birthday!!

I remember when you pregnant with him! You're a great mom for getting that cake together for him. He's going to love it

Here's Kell and his cake. The darker part where Mario is riding his motorcycle has no icing since Kell does NOT like icing. He really liked his cake! Just for reference on how silly my cake decorating skills are, I've included his 5th birthday cake here also and to be honest until I loaded that photo on nc.com I never noticed he put a grape on one of the dinosaurs!

Good job on the cakes! I remember getting very stressed out with birthday cakes when my boys were small but their faces always made it worth the effort. He looks thrilled with his.

I thought it was missing something so I then put just a light dusting of chocolate sprinkles on it for mouse poo. It was the funniest cake ever!!! She loved it. Unfortunately, when my computer died 5 years ago, we lost the photos of it. But every time someone gets a cake with "something" on it, S lights up and says,
"Oooo, do you remember my mouse cake???"
