Kindle questions

sunshine - you should right a little story about the movie and what all it's cost you and sell it on ebay with the story in the description. I saw a guy sell his x-wife's wedding dress for thousands of dollars because he told about what a great dress it was and how horrible she was and that the dress deserved a good woman. Maybe you could recoup your losses

When I took my morning break to go lay on my yoga mat with my foot in the air, I got to read on my new Kindle
My Kindle arrived yesterday!! YAY!! I got it setup and the first thing I bought (free!) was Pride and Prejudice. I also got everything else by Jane Austen that was free. Sense and Sensibility was not free, so I will wait a bit on that - yes, it's only .99 BUT I promised myself that if I spent the money on the Kindle, the cover, and a AC adapter, I wouldn't spent any more $ on it for at least 1 month. I then got Les Miserables (sp?), which I have never read but want to. I will also get a ton of my favorite books like Treasure Island, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, etc.

I imagine the first newer book I'll cave and buy will be The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest because I lost my printed version (I have issues.....) but it was free because a friend who bought it and didn't like it gave it to me.

Thanks for all the help and the suggested websites; I will be checking them out! I love to read and I love to be frugal

I can't wait for the snazzy red cover to arrive....l am lugging it around in my knitting bag/purse in its box right now

I think Kindles should come with an adapter; why don't they? It seems like nickel and diming.

Sunshine, that is one punitive library system you've got. They should be ashamed of themselves. I'm sorry that happened to you.

Silly cover is still mucking about in Iowa. Why has it been in Iowa for 3 days in the USPS? WHY???

Claudine is right. They really are nickel and diming kindle users.

I don't have a kindle but I have the app. I buy books for kindle on it. Once you get the kindle, it'll automatically sync with amazon and put the books you bought on it.

I can't believe they don't come with chargers anymore. That doesn't really make sense...at all. Even apple gives you chargers and dey be greeday.
Not justifying because it's just stupid not to include an adapter. It's possible that the charger's aren't being included because they're universal micro-SD plugs. Most smart phones use micro-SD connectors for chargers, so maybe they consider it superfluous?

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.
I check these sites daily for free Kindle books:

I just ordered a kindle the other day, and it should be delivered today! I go on vacation next week (leaving Sunday) so I have to figure it all out by then! It has WiFi, and I have Amazon prime....will I still have to plug it into my computer? Can I get some of these awesome free books if I don't plug it in?

I stupidly payed the $20 for the adapter. Oh well. I guess I'm a sucker.

I got a pretty purple case for it. :-)
