That's an interesting thought, I'd love to go back and see what my first post was and who responded to me because I have absolutely no idea.
I've always been the same name.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I'm guessing Mar, Gretchen, or Michelle were the first to talk to me because there were so few of us on the site back then! I know there are other "old timers" who've been around since '98/'99, but I can't remember who they are!

We could almost spin off this "first person to 'talk' to you idea." I love it! The first to reply to me was Whatsercurl, for which I am truly honored. (I did an advanced search on threads started by me to confirm it. Maybe that would work for others who are curious?)
I've never changed my name, but I just realized I might have to in a couple of years. Eep! Then again, 50+ is, technically, also 40+ .... right?

When I do any type of search it only shows me 500 posts. Is there a way to go further back? I didn't think that stuff was available any longer.

I'm actually not sure how many posts it shows. I just had it display threads started by me in ascending rather than descending order, so it started with the first one that I ever posted. But you've been around longer than me so I can't swear it would be exactly the same for you.

Well go figure, if you actually use the different search features you can find what you're looking for! I switched it to ascending order and although I don't remember it at all I found my first post and alas, nobody responded to me.

Y'all, don't go back and search for your first post because you'll get all sucked into reading this stuff and not having the slightest memory of posting any of it!!

Oh ya! I think I did do that! Lol
I wonder why I switched it?
Probably bc I hated my married name, lol.

-Click Search (the one under the link to access your private messages, not the one at the top of the page)
-Click Advanced Search
-Search by username
-Under "search options" change sort results to ascending order

I've been around since '99, but I don't post often. I was 15 when I joined! I'll be 29 this year and I have two kids!

I know in the past I've started similar threads where we share what "real life" we've gone through since joining.
Maybe it's time for another

I remember people freaking out because you had 'oriental' in your name.
I've always had this name here.

springy you are too damn smart.
I found NC in the fall of 2004, read the forum for months, joined in May 05 but didn't talk until June. Evidently I REALLY liked polls in the beginning.
I started my first thread in March 06 and zero people talked to me. I started a thread in Over 40 in April 06 and Lavendercurls responded.
And now you can't shut me up. : )

It was totally wavycurly40+! I never even thought about changing the order they were listed because I'm a goober. (I typed that as booger at first, wtf fingers)
