No, really, get out of the thread.
Yes, I can't wait for next week and the temps in the 50s that we're slated to have!
And rou, if we ever meet it will be outside that inhospitable hellhole.

39 right now. So cold in the office my nipples are poking out.
I could get used to it if it was consistent. One day it's in the mid 50s to 60s and the next it's 40 or under. Big diff.
Next tuesday it's going to be 70/59 wtf.

i'm sure you'd be quite happy in the summer here, chérie.
we had a week at the beginning of last July where the temps were in the 90s every day with humidex readings well above 100F!

+1. I live in NY (Hudson Valley area, so I know I don't get the worst of it- I spent my college years in Syracuse). It's been in single digits here (I think it was 5F when I left my apartment). I would never survive in Canada.

If I ever make it up there!
We did go to Montreal a few summers ago. I definitely want to visit there again sometime.

The problem with up north including nyc is that summers are insanely hot with no beach nearby and winters are deadly cold. I love south fl in the summer but it's because im usually near a pool or beach all day. Same in atlanta. In dc, my sister has to pay or search real hard to find an apt complex or hotel party to get into a pool. How awful!!

There are beaches nearby (NYC). Course, my family doesn't go because we pretty much hate beaches here being used to cool, shady, crystal-clear Caribbean beaches.

My sister was miserable in NYC summers. Last summer in DC she got a pool membership, or something of that sort.
Central Florida summers are brutal. I much prefer being in Miami then.

Just pointing out that I have sixteen paws to thaw out on a daily basis, plus a semi-feral cat taking refuge in the bathroom, so that makes 20.
20 paws.
Yes, I want a medal.

Thank you, rou!
I will think of that when I'm rubbing so many, many paw pads outside in the 17 degree weather.

It gets old pretty quick
Our beaches aren't great here in CT but in upstate NY they have beautiful lakes which I prefer to beaches.
Long Island is said to have some of the best beaches.

I'm sure you are right. I've seen weather forecasts where they tell us there is a 10% chance of rain. I'm pretty sure the forecasters in NY just ignore that on any given day. "Ten percent? Why even bother?" I'm sure they are very excited right now. It's been raining all day, and it's expected to rain through the weekend.

It's not as cold as a lot of you (30F), but it's so cold that the dog just peed from the poop position. This southern girl wouldn't know what the hell to do with some of these temps being mentioned!!
