Saturday Night!
 

I'm supposed to be at a Birthday party, but we have a little blizzard going on outside and I'm not going anywhere.

So in my jammies, have a fire going and am having crepes and wine for dinner....perfect ending to the week!

What's everyone else up to?

Was gonna stay at a friends house tonight, but I just got back from a 36 hour trip to Oregon, so it'll probably be Netflix and homework,

My hubby and daughter are at their first Father/Daughter dance, so I'm home with the boys. We're having pancakes and bacon for dinner and watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

We had a fire last night!

This is my second night making crepes, just something so perfect about ending the day with breakfast! I feel all warm and snugly inside. I guess that could be the wine though :lol:

DH is putting up some shelves for me, I can't do much to help him so I'm cuddling with the dog.

Hanging with my parents and my son at my parents house.

My husband is running a marathon tomorrow so it's a quiet night :)

I rented a lame movie and ate some bad-for-me food. Yum! Perfect night! ;)

Now I'm just watching tv. I might take a look at homework...

Ehhh, or not!

Now we're watching some Reese Witherspoon movie.

I went shopping for a bunch of ingredients for a layer cake I'm making and unfortunately got home pretty late so I only managed to make one sponge cake for the top and bottom layers and mango cream. Tomorrow I have to make the main cake, mascarpone frosting, white chocolate mango ganache, and honestly, more mango cream, because I need a little more. Aaaaah, that mango cream was stressful! It was a taste and tweak process and thankfully the final product turned out really well in spite of the improvisation. I need to be up early tomorrow! I'd just keep baking now, but my mother practically has a coronary that I'm in the kitchen at 9 PM. Of course, she complains when I'm up early, too!

I'm wrapped up in a snuggly blanket, laptop attached to my lap and the gas fireplace is going so I'm cozy.

We went for a walk in a nearby redwoods grove today and on the way home stopped and got pie so I'm having chocolate cream pie for dinner. ;) Mr. Spring will be having apple pie and he's busy blowing people up on Call of Duty with a buddy of his that lives in Ohio. It's tough for them to work out playtime with the 3 hour time difference, but they enjoy it and it gives them time to chat and catch up with each other while blowing stuff up.

I was supposed to grab dinner and drinks with another couple, but my boyfriend is sick, so we postponed.

That means I'm spending my Saturday night getting acquainted with my new MacBook. :D

We spent today looking at kitchens, flooring, tiles, counter tops, and on and on and on. So, tonight, when we were supposed to go see a band at a local dive, I passed. Now, I am happy on my couch with my dogs watching bad tv.

Watched Zero Dark Thirty and did/doing some homework.

I was analyzing a young man with my friend up in Canada.........................................

It was 23 F degrees here, so hubby went to play cards with his buddies and I stayed in with the kiddos. I cooked us roasted beef tips with caramalized onions and red wine, blanched green beans with softened garlic and potato and parsely soup. We ate like piggies and played games and read aloud and then when my little guy went to bed, I started a Downton Abbey marathon interrupted only by my mother's need to watch As Time Goes By and Keeping Up Appearances.

Insomnia is back and I watched way too many episodes of Downton Abbey.

All in all, a nice evening!

My night might seem wild compared to everyone else. Went to a free show with a friend to see a 70's funk band. Then we went to do karaoke at a bar afterwards. Didn't get home till 2am.

Went to an early dinner and had drinks. Got home by 10:30 and napped. BF had to work at 12am and I was going to work and study but fell asleep instead. Very tame saturday night for me.

The Saturday coming, I will be picking out a prom dress with my little sister and going to play some pool with DBF and friends :)

I'm so jealous of all you guys' cold weather. It's way to warm here in Texas for January.

Trust me, don't be jealous. I just got back from NY and although I lived there for 38 years, I don't remember it ever being as bitterly, brutally, intolerably frigid as it was last week. I shudder to think of what became of any homeless people who didn't get to a shelter.

I returned to FL just in time to bask in 85 degree weather. So although there are many things I miss about New York, the cold is no longer one of them.

OTOH, I've got wicked allergies since the citrus trees are already in bloom! : )
