Survivor 26: Caramoan **Possible Spoilers**

Remember back in the day when they really had one luxury item? Now they have glasses and contacts and so many clothes! I liked it better when they didn't get allotted food, etc. Granted they're still hungry as all get out but it seems easier now. To be clear, nothing about it looks easy lol but I remember second (?) Season, outback, where they took a scale out there to show them how much they'd lost, it was brutal that season.

^^^ I agree. I am annoyed by all the clothing changes, the makeup, the hair looking clean, etc. And I know it is still not easy but they have definitely made it easier than it was the for the first few seasons.

One good reason to only maintain a small circle of friends is that three out of four murders are committed by people who know the victim. ~George Carlin~

Does anyone wonder if the producers encourage some of this behavior? I really have to wonder at some of it.

I always laugh when someone says they need them because they are good at challenges but they are still losing. The girl that got booted did say that and I have to give her credit for bringing it up. And they flushed out the idol.

Personally, I disagreed with her (Katie ?) when she brought up that statement. The fans are behind. They have to hang on to whatever hope (strength) they have to try to keep some of their numbers before the merge. I was sitting there thinking "finally a bunch of people who made the smart move."

Daaaammmmmmn! I love how Jeff handled that, he knew Brandon be crazy. Looks like a switch up, I think there are still too many for a merge. Keep Phillip on his toes!

Do you think they knew everything he'd done at camp before the challenge (I mean Probst)? I think there were tears because I really think he scared the crap out off them. Being around that kind on instability is really scary. I did laugh that the only time I can remember a team deciding to throw a challenge was to get rid of russell hantz. Maybe there will be no more Hantz family after this.

I think that much more happened at camp for everyone to be that upset. How did Brandon pass the psych evaluation? Both he and shemar were obviously not okay.

I was surprised they let Brandon do parting words, I was sure they would be busy evaluating him. When Jeff was telling him where to walk I was waiting for "and a team of doctors will be there to talk to you"

I do think there is something really not okay with him, the mood swings were just so extreme and how he'd talk himself into believing the angry response (“I have to leave for my family, I'm being selfish") then the calmer one ("I have to stay for my family, to leave would be selfish") it must be very difficult to be inside Brandon's brain

Meanwhile, I want Reynold voted off, I really dislike him.

I hope it is a merge, that would really shake things up.

The sad part because Brandon was acting crazy is that all the true stuff he was saying about Phillip will get overlooked. Phillip does talk too much and everyone does talk and laugh about him behind his back.

my random thoughts:

1. Yay for tribal shake up

2. WTH is wrong with (what is it with me and remembering their names??? Reynold's friend, Eddie??) - he went immediately to "we're the best looking group of people" AGAIN .. which, coincidentally, is when I really looked at him and thought "your one eye is wonky, you are not the Adonis you believe yourself to be"

3. Does Phillip not know how to use a flint??? seemed to me he was rubbing and not striking - not that I'm sure *I'd* know how to use one, but I'd surely practice

4. Poor Matt!!! he really wanted to just last a little longer and was going along with everything. However, I do think breaking up the two of them was probably smart long-term

5. I like both new tribes - but like the Cochran tribe better, seems that more likable people are on that tribe (minus Phillip, of course)

6. Malcolm's comments for next week worried me a bit - and by worried I mean I want him to be so honorable and wonderful (think Colby in Outback) but he's saying "I can't wait to see the look on some people's faces when I'm running the show in a few days" - I wanted to ask him to reel in his ego a bit (then I think - Rob Mariano was always like that too and it didn't bother me from him, so I suppose I have different standards for Malcolm)

7. I have to wonder why everyone IS keeping Phillip around - everyone seems to just tolerate him, so why not just vote him off? maybe because he's a diversion?

8. I loved how Reynold was described as "he's like a used car salesman" - because doesn't he sell cars in real life? (no, I just checked, it's real estate)

9. It seems like eons ago that Shamar was there

10. I hope they keep these two tribes separate for a bit - it'll make the merge much more interesting

The split put all the young strong people on one tribe. I can't see the other tribe pulling out any wins and, therefore, getting knocked off one by one. I hate it when the tribes seem "uneven" like this.

Corrine and Phillip were worried about the idol and Cochran about a partnership so they keep Julie over Matt??? How dumb. They are already the weak tribe. Nothing like making themselves physically weaker.

I understood them getting rid of Matt, but I think they did lose sight of the short term goal of winning challenges - unless, of course, they believe the merge will happen before/right after they pick off the 3 fans they have.

ETA: that sounds like I'm saying that they can't be young and strong AND smart - I just think that the other tribe would be better puzzle wise, etc (although that debacle of putting together the puzzle last night....)

Why was/is Dawn sucking up to Phillip? Although she voted against him and Chochran voted with him.

why is EVERYONE sucking up to Phillip??

I cannot deal with the way he's bossing everyone around and telling them what they will and will not do - like it makes me cringe when he gets like that
and how he puts his head all up in their face when trying to make a point. ARGGGG I really want them to blindside him - if he makes it all the way - WHY???

Then the whole "oh I didn't want to win the challenge" WTF - I understand they are trying to preserve numbers for the merge, I mean, I get the strategy but DUDE, you think you are Boston Rob and you are so NOT. (I wonder if Rob is watching and just how hard he's laughing at this monster he created)

He clearly could.not.run in the water - he 100% was the reason they lost that challenge - "Phillip, can we run?" "Phillip can we run?" WTF, take his bag and unclick his rope and carry on w/o him!!!!

also:

I think Brenda hurt her knee - she had it wrapped for a couple of episodes then sat out a physical challenge and she's usually good in physical stuff - I'm also sad that she has so little screen time this season

I'm glad that the guy didn't go home, I know it's an uphill battle for him but I really like him and would like to see him go far

MERGE next week, that'll bring some drama, I think - and MAYBE WE'LL GET RID OF PHILLIP - that man, arrggg (did I mention that?) LOL

and...

I really liked Malcolm last season but this season he's bugging me. Could very well be that he aligned with Reynold last night, because that guy turns my stomach - but I thought he was a good player last season and this season I think he's sneakier. (which I understand is part of the game but I like it when people try to play with integrity)

I suppose he may be sneakier bc he didn't make it as far as he wanted last season so is "playing to WIN!"

I'm glad Phillip tried to pull the "I threw the challenge" BS with Cochran. He'll tell Dawn and hopefully they'll get his azz gone!

Yay merge!

reading this recap Survivor recap: A Specialist at Losing | Season 26 Episode 07 | EW.com, I came across this:

Gota has an extra member and decides to sit Brenda out. Then, during the pre-game strategy sessions, Reynold mentions that, ďIf someone dies, we all have to stop.Ē The fact that Reynold is actually worried about how to proceed in challenge should one of his teammates die would be funnier if someone hadnít actually just died last week on the French version of Survivor, so letís just let that comment go and move on, shall we?

Which made me google - WTF - and found this:

What a disappointment. I like Corinne. At this point I only care about getting Phillip gone. I really dislike that fruitcake. Dawn, shut your big mouth! I knew she'd do it too, she can't stop.

She talked to one too many and it came back to bite her in the a**. I would like to see the final two be Cochran and Malcolm. Looks like Eddie might be making a move next week by trying to romantically get involved with Andrea (is that her name). Would give him an alliance on the other side if that works.

I liked Corinne, too. I'm a little disappointed in Dawn but mostly because she told Phillip of all people. I mean, why tell Phillip? That man gets up my nose sideways. Before, he bugged me, he annoyed me, he was a nut job. Now I think he's an egotistical SOB, I can't find anything likeable about him. WHY IS EVERYONE DEFERRING TO HIM?

Yes, I think Eddie it's going to try to get in with Andrea, I hope she doesn't fall for it. Really hope not.

I was proud of Cochran! It disgusted me but I was very proud of him. I really don't understand why he and dawn give Phillip so much credence. I wonder if people really just didn't like Corinne. But that doesn't make sense because if we were voting for most disliked Phillip would be gone. Does anyone like him? Respect him?
