How delish would it be to add cream cheese frosting to it? Mmmmm

Hmmm I don't think it'd be terribly good as frosting, now just whipped cream cheese on top after cooling would probably be fantastic. I'll make it! I don't like cherries on mine though so that won't be in with the pineapple. Lol, I just realized how that sounded, not on top of the pineapple. Hmmm maybe a middle?

I know someone who puts cream cheese frosting on pineapple upside down cake. IMO it's disgustingly sweet. But if that's your thing, you might like it.

That's what I was thinking. There's enough sugar in the batter, brown sugar and pineapple/juice that it doesn't need any more sugar.

Birthday cake! Lol. I love chocolate bread, with that sugary buttercream icing. Yum yum yum.

My mother once made me a caramel cake with a caramel buttercream frosting. It was delicious!

I often torte my cakes & fill them with a homemade jam type filling. Like white chocolate cake with raspberry filling. But I always fill my cakes with frosting for my sons birthday parties.

Pound and chocolate cakes are my favorites. I'd like tres leches cake too, but I can't eat it as I'm lactose intolerant.

Least favorites? Any jam filled cake and cheesecake.

I'm surprised you guys all dislike jam cakes so much because I love them, especially chocolate with raspberry jam.

My grandma makes amazing pound cake that's perfect plain with a glass of milk.

A few people I know make a cake that looks exactly as you described. The recipe for it is on the back of the Hershey's Cocoa can. It has been for years. That might not be it, but it's worth a shot.

*my phone is killing me. we had to ask my uncle for the recipe many times before he broke down and told us. people seem to act a bit secretive with that one.*
Thanks fifi! I might have tried that years ago but always worth another shot!

Chocolate probably but I only have cake on special occasions and if I have it too often I get tired of it no matter what kind it is so I try to limit the amount I have.

Yep, I'm having cheesecake at my wedding too! And for my baby shower, my mom is making cheesecake and sugar cookies!

CC frosting isn't supposed to be too sweet. It has to maintain the tang of the cream cheese.
