Rosa Parks Birthday was yesterday, (yeah I'm a day late)!

she would had been 100! There's talks of a museum. what do y'all think? how should Rosa be honored?
Beyond the bus boycott, was her life that interesting?

I guess when I think "museum" I think of like the Met in NYC. But if her hometown wants to honor her, why not?

But more than that, I would want public school curricula to be revamped to include much more on the topics of African American Studies, the Civil Rights Movement, theories of civil disobedience and political activism.

when they mentioned museum my thoughts were more along the lines of the fredrick douglass or edgar allen poe musuem, which is there homes converted into a museum of sorts.

Mrs. Parks was active in the civil rights movement well before the bus incident. She was secreatary of the NAACP in Montgomery. What happened on the bus was a catalyze for bigger things. there were i believe 4 other blacks there and they all gave up their seats. rosa was the only one who refused to move. even after the hardships she experienced after the boycott, she continued to be a leader in the civil right movement. she started a foundation that helped high school seniors get to college. She also helped start a program that would help educate young people about black history. This woman was nearly evicted from her home because she was so broke, but continued to give to help young black people go further then those in her generation could ever dream.

^^^ A good idea, I guess. As long as it doesn't mess up the zoning.
