Just heard this morning that 2 paper delivery women were shot yesterday because law enforcement thought it was him. They survived their injuries so far.

This sucks. I wonder what they did to him. I figured it was racial discrimination and it is according to something I read. I wonder if/when we'll find out what happened.

dude is mentally unstable. he's linked to the murders of an officers daughter and fiance and now he's killed a cop. he will probably end up killing himself. i hate to say it but hopefully before he kills more people or other innocent people get harmed trying to capture him.

There are two instances of LEO shooting at the wrong vehicle thinking it was him.
The whole situation is horrible.

The second had no injuries and is mentioned in the article.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DRIVE A BLUE TRUCK? More then enough that you shouldn't be shooting at every blue truck driving on the road without first checking that the person you're trying to kill isn't inside.
I heard about this at work yesterday. The two delivery women better be getting a big fat check from the LAPD for their now destroyed truck AND their injuries/lost time/etc.

Why are the police shooting at random trucks? The media claims that Dorner's truck was found burned in Big Bear.

The shootings on those two vehicles happened before his burned truck had been found from what I understand.

Ok. I read about his burned truck yesterday. I just read about the second shooting today. That makes more sense.

Police usually have a very strong sense of brotherhood. One wonders what causes a cop to turn against other cops. Is the LAPD as messed up as they are portrayed?

^^He was fired for making false statements, which he says was really revenge for him filing a complaint against the LAPD. I forget what the complaint was: abuse of power? Racism?

I read that the complaint was against other officers beating an unarmed, unresisting man. It's LAPD; I believe him.
And JFC what's with the shooting random people on the chance it might be who they're looking for? They're not even going to pretend to try to make an arrest are they? They're just going to shoot on sight.

There was a BIG shootout today in Big Bear, CA. He shot two more police officers and one of them died from his wounds. They think he was holed up in a vacant cabin. Law enforcement ended up shooting smoke bombs in and the cabin caught on fire. They have not been able to get in to confirm a body is in there or not.

A gun shot was heard just before they set the cabin on fire. Perhaps he shot himself.

Yeah, Aryan Brotherhood, if you believe the scads of video accounts on youtube - of regular, everyday citizens being brutalized by members of the LAPD. It's hard to argue the authenticity of so much of that footage IMO. There's no doubt in my mind at this point that a lot of those cops are (still) corrupt, even decades following the Rodney King incident.
That said, Dorner's actions are obviously reprehensible.
But in the end, he kind of got his way, more or less. His actions (including the creation of his manifesto), re-directed attention to the seriousness of the problem w/the LAPD. And he apparently killed himself to keep anyone from punishing him as they see fit. He got the last word.
He was probably their worst nightmare for a number of reasons. One being that he was an extremely intelligent and cunning insider. This guy wasn't crazy in the classical sense IMO. Reading the manifesto affirms that he was lucid, highly organized, and methodical. I think it was just that he had pathologically limited control over his anger.

Glad to see I'm not the only one out there w/this view. I KNOW how naive this is, but up until looking at those videos, I really didn't understand just how corrupt and racist too many of those cops are. Here was my thinking up until watching the vids (And I say this as someone who IS part-black):
More black and minority people are in jail/prison because more commit crime. [And I believed that was so because of poverty and the problems that come with it.] A small number are in jail simply because of racist cops.
I've revised that thinking. Now, I think this is likely the case:
More black and minority people are in jail/prison because minority neighborhoods are over-patrolled and most minority people are viewed w/disproportionate suspicion and treated accordingly. Also, it's possible more minority people are in prison because they're more likely to be intimidated by officers and bullied into accepting plea bargains to decrease sentences for things they didn't do in the first place.
I also think more minority people are in jail/prison because fewer whites get stopped and frisked; white neighborhoods - unless located in affluent areas - are less patrolled, whites are viewed w/less suspicion and therefore likely get away w/more crime and they can often afford better lawyers who have their best interest in mind. It's also likely they get bullied into accepting charges of guilt as often. And finally, I now have a hard time accepting my prior thinking - that it's only a small number of minorities that suffer prison time because of discrimination and the hands of cops.
Yes, all that changed thinking from watching hours of vid footage of blatantly corrupt cop behavior and mentally sorting through all the inferences and implications of their collective behavior. I'm disgusted and haunted. I'm sick w/anger and sadness. I've been so naive.
