Alegria shoes
Anyone have or wear Alegria shoes? They've been recommended for my poor feet. Danskos were also recommended but they do not have a flexible sole and they weigh much more than I'd survive walking around in all day.
What do you think about Alegria shoes? Likes? Dislikes? General comments?

I like them a lot, but I tend to trip in clogs, so that was a problem for me.
Then my dog ate them.

Haven't tried them myself but want to, they get great reviews. I don't know if you know this site barkingdogshoes.com but she reviews all sorts of shoes for trouble feet and often reviews this brand. I've bought several pairs she's recommended and been happy

I own eight pairs of them. I love them and use them for work. Dansko/Sanita are too hard for me.
Alegria also offers a nice selection of closed heel and closed toe shoes, which is a work requirement for me.

Thanks! I am under a budget crunch because I am waiting to be laid off so I wanted to know if they are worth it. You convinced me! I tried on several styles at the mall yesterday on my lunch break. I like the mary jane styles best but it's so cold here I just couldn't buy any.
After seeing your responses, I googled Alegria and found these boots on 6pm: Alegria Ava - 6pm.com At the mall, they were $169.00 so I didn't even try them on.
Before I broke my foot I wore biker boots with suit pants, unorthodox - yes, but it works for me. Plus I can wear these with my skinny jeans too! Now I just have to wait for them to get here!!!
And then when it warms up in a month or so, I will get the mary janes if I like the Alegria boots as much as I think I will.
PS - I think it's funny I bought boots from 6pm at 5am when I couldn't sleep!

Thanks to Claudine, I tried Alegria and absolutely LOVE them! I have a really hard time finding comfortable shoes that are cute, but these fit my requirements! I usually try on the different styles in the mall, then find them cheaper online. Your feet will thank you!

I can't wear open backed clogs, so I got boots! I want mary janes too . . . I love mary janes! I have 2 pairs of Merrell mary janes but the second I put them on my foot SCREAMS in pain. They are just not roomy enough in the toes now. I will hang onto them for a few more months and if I still can't wear them and my 15 yo daughter doesn't want them, they'll go to Good Will.

Boots, oxfords, sandals.
The Abbi is my favorite for winter, but they no longer make that model in all the fun colors. I also have the Mary Janes. I want the Pesca for summer work wear.

The boots came and are absolutely cute! They just look like loafers or oxfords under dress pants and are great with my skinny jeans down in them.
But they do not fit. They are not wide enough for my healing foot. They feel snug on my good foot too. So, they are going back. The Alegria website has them on sale now, so I ordered them in wide and am trying to be patient for them to get here.

The pair I ordered on Wednesday evening direct from Alegria's website came today. They fit much better and do not irritate my still healing foot. Yay!!! I am going to wear them tomorrow with my skinny Levis and try to figure out if they are really as cute as I think they are
Funny thing: the address the boots were mailed from is a 5 minute drive from my office in NC!!! That's an hour+ from my home. I find that odd that I didn't realize where they were located; I normally pay attention to that sort of thing. They also have a California warehouse. Not so close to me.

Here are my new boots! I really like them. They are super comfy even on my broken foot! Once my prescription orthotics arrive, they will fit in these boots. I think the toe shape is a little odd, but that is part of the design that makes them work so well so I will get used to that. Function over style! But I do think they are cute
ETA: Thanks for all the recommendations!

murrrcat - oh dear! Does it help any that only the first pair came from 6pm? They didn't offer the wide size that my broken foot needed so I had to go to Alegria's online store to get them.
But I am considering buying my daughter's next running shoes from 6pm. OMG! I cannot stop myself!

A girlfriend IRL told me about it. I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret. Or not supposed to be a secret. I am confused. Is there a code? If there is a code, may I please get the decoder ring?

bwahahhaahhahaa
no it's not really a secret, I've known for years (I came across it one day) because they have mega sales sometimes, and then they'll change the price the next day so you have to check on an item you like often because it might go cheaper...IN FACT I BOUGHT NEW RUNNING SHOES SATURDAY ON THERE (omg i buy something like twice a week I swear, I need 6pm rehab, I also got sunglasses 86% off....yoooo) and when I was checking out the price jumped up 4 dollars! what!! But they were still 64% off LOL. Score.
My roommate found out because she kept seeing the boxes that said 6pm.com on them coming here and went to the website and bought her bf a bunch of clothes from there for his birthday. LOL dammmnit keep away from my site!
They are the....outlet store of Zappos. They ship fast and free, the only thing that sucks is that if you don't like something you have to PAY shipping to return it, but it's not that big of a deal since you usually spent 50% less on the item anyway.
Man I love 6pm.com more than I love pizza.
I also keep telling them to add reviews like zappos or put the reviews from zappos on their site because its the same company, if you take the survery when you check out...TELL THEM TO ADD REVIEWS LOL.
