Default My sister's cat is missing :( UPDATE home after 7 days missing

My sister's cat went missing two days ago. She only goes ontside at five pm everyday for a few hours and then comes home for dinner. My sister is so sick with worry, the cat is her life.
Has anyone ever had a cat that returned after a few days?

I'm sorry, I hope he turns up.

Once, after a day. He was at a nearby cat hangout (an abandoned house). He cut open his paw pretty good and couldn't walk very well. It was one of the first places we looked because we knew he went over there all the time. Some point after we left, he managed to hobble out of where ever hiding spot he was in and then just laid in the yard waiting for us to come back.

I know I would be heart broken if Max was missing. Hope she finds her way home.

I hope you find your kitty. If I lost my Jade, I would be inconsolable.

Yes!

I know of a cat who was gone for weeks and then came home.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Put out flyers with a clear picture. Use Facebook as well. Leave a super smelly can of cat food near your house. Check local shelters and rescues too.

I hope you find him soon!

Why does she let the cat outside?

I hope kitty turns up safe and sound.

My cat returned after 9 or 10 days missing.
We were really sad thinking we d lost her. It was at a very bad weather time. We couldn t believe that one night, she was there, at the window, meowing for food.

Hope this happens to your sister s kitty.

Keep the faith ----- where there is food and warmth and comfort, kitties almost always return.

Oh no!

There are some good suggestions upthread.

Check animal control and the local shelters, especially if they have a short kill time.

Put up flyers and ask neighbors. If it's cold, someone may have taken the cat in.

Post on Craigslist lost and found board.

If possible, get a humane trap and set it with a favorite or really smelly food. You might catch other animals first.

I've read that cats don't stray far. My Buddy took off from his previous family. They are five houses down.

Some cities have FB pages that post missing pets. I see one for Erie pop up on my FB page all the time.

Seleah came home last night at 10:30 after being gone 7 days. Banged on the front door meowing her head off, wet, skinny and mad as hell! My sister is soooo happy! Kitty will never leave the house again! LOL

Hurray!!!!!

I knew she'd come home.

(If she's not spayed, you can expect kittens.)

I am so glad kitty came home. I have had a cat come home after being missing for several months. I really wish kitties could talk because I am sure they'd have some wild stories to tell about where they've been and what they've done.
