Next time i'm thinking of mixing things into the butter for flavored butter. what's that called? butter compote?? anywho, it taste so yummy!!

I just had to share this info to the world!!

The New Black 03-04-2013 08:45 AM

Compound butter.

Congrats! It's fun, no? You can use a stand mixer too. No sore arms.

thelio 03-04-2013 08:55 AM

Thanks TNB! whats compote? did i make something up?

i dont have a stand mixer, so i started with my magic bullet, but it only did so much, so i shook it up the rest way. i'm sure if i was in shape it would be so bad. and i can use the excercise.

That's so cool!

It's not particularly glamorous or exciting, but sea salt butter is literally the greatest thing I've ever tasted!

Mr. Spring did this once and it was so much fun to watch. He was so proud of that butter, just like you are.

I need to ask him to do that again because it was tasty AND entertaining. :D

Mmm! I've been meaning to try Himalayan pink salt. I'm sure it was delicious. There was just something about spreading it on some bread, and getting big, crunchy bits of salt in the butter. Omg. Drooling just thinking about it!

I'm chuckling at your continued obsession with butter.
You should make cultured butter next time. Sweet cream butter is good, but I love my cultured butter. European butters are usually cultured.

It's stewed fruit. :)

MMmm, I bet that Him. Pink salt was good. I just bought some on Saturday and used it to marinate a chicken overnight. Juiciest, most flavorful chicken ever....

I made kefir cheese!!

it's not the best looking stuff in the world, but its really yummy! I added honey and fig jam. its like a cream cheese but stronger? i have to figure out a way to make it look smoother. i thought the honey would do it. guess not.

CurlyCanadian 03-11-2013 07:00 AM

Can you put it in the food processor? I think you said you didn't have beaters?

Just as is though, looks yummy!!!!

So impressed :D

ruralcurls 03-11-2013 07:07 AM

I make my own kefir. i just let it culture longer. after i think 3 days, i then strained it over night. for dinner last night, i mixed it with honey and left over fig jam to go with honey rolls i made.

CurlyCanadian 03-11-2013 07:21 AM
