Anyone up for a pre-swim suit season fitness challenge?

Maybe we should all start reporting what we ate on here too that way we can feel worse for not following through with our goals lol...

Today I ate a wrap: teaspoon of ***e greek yogurt, two slices of turkey, green bell pepper, onions, black pepper, red crushed pepper, and a tinsy wincy bit of honey mustard dressing all inside flour tortilla kind of bad, almonds with dried cranberries, fiber one bar, applesauce with flax, I should maybe decrease my sugar intake sugar=carbs... Following this did insanity cardio abs and the 8 minute ab routine on youtube.Tonight ill have a homemade taco salad...without the taco -_____-
I didn't get to the gym today, but was much better about the food. No random snacking, which is my downfall. I'm considering ceasing my nightly glass of wine. I like my glass of wine, but it would probably be a good idea to eliminate it while I try to drop the winter weight.

I'll get to the gym tomorrow, and in the morning, as school, we're having the yearly jog-a-thon. Depending on the child I wind up taking around the field, I may get my cardio, or some of it anyway, along side one of the munchkins.

food addiction is truly my problem...
there is a history of alcoholism in my family and I'm convinced that the gene that caused their challenges with liquor affects me with food...
I binge, obsessively at times. That's no different than a drinking binge except I can purge (but I haven't done that in ages). A cousin also has a food addiction. He somehow hid it and got a lap band. He's eaten around it and has gained weight since the surgery.

All of that was the say that the surgeries are not the answer for everyone.
Ugh.

Well, a few hours after I posted on Tuesday that I was up for the challenge, I fell down and stomped, hard, on the broken ankle. So I've been even more sedentary than normal for the past two evenings, babying my foot.

Seems to be pretty much back to where it was before stomping on it. So, I think tonight I will try my luck with some upper body strength stuff that I can do sitting down, and maybe some non-impact lower body stuff (leg lifts, etc). Before I broke my foot, I was just starting to work on some specific quadriceps and hip weaknesses that were causing the same running injury to recur whenever I'd push my mileage.

Hey, I have a built in ankle weight now. We weighed my boot, and it weighs 4.5 lbs

Elliptical done! That makes 4x this week and I'm planning on yoga for one day this weekend.

Going to walk 2 miles at lunch.
Still no coffee/cream all week. I'm dying here!!!

I messed up and had a vegan brownie yesterday (never had one and I was curious). But I walked 2 miles so hpefully I burned it off.

I had 1/3 bowl of (chicken) pho for dinner w/ some grilled squash.

This morning I had a cup of Irish oatmeal w/ dried fruit and sliced almonds. And a green tea (w/ sugar).

Planning on a full bowl of pho for lunch or maybe a salad from Chipotle w/ 1/2 chicken 1/2 steak, lettuce, tomato, peppers, onions and vinaigrette.

I will be so tempted to stop for gourmet cheese popcorn on the way there. But I gotta be strong.

I have been trying to get up every morning to do the treadmill or pilates but I'm too sleepy.

Had a decently healthy lunch of some turkey slices rolled up and some crackers. Yesterday we went out to dinner. That's the thing about being home is that my parents (who are divorced) both want to take me and my fiancÚ out to dinner, so it's double the dinner outings. Next week I'll be back at school and will have access to the elliptical again. About to lift some weights right now.

4.09 miles. 48 minutes. Running up a mile long steep hill...sucks(no.....something worse)
So, I was assigned to the expected student for the Jog-a-thon. He actually ran a lot of the time, so in 15 or twenty minutes, he and I did 8 laps of the playground, which equaled. 1.33 miles. later, I took the dogs for a walk. Or rather, they took me, for another 1.6, so nearly 3 miles today, out in the fresh air, instead of the treadmill

I've been good on the food, too, no random snacking. Just lots of water.

I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning.

I already lost 15 lbs since the beginning of November and while I would like to lose another 10 lbs, I am already set to wear a two piece this year with no shame! Even though I still have some to lose, I have spent too many years covering up. This year I am uncovered!!!!!! I am going to start lifting weights and I have been running/walking 3 times a week for a few weeks. My eating is great, lots of protein, fat, vegetables, very very very little sugar! No bread, pasta, rice which I don't care about anyway.

Good luck to everyone with their efforts!

I'm not trying to lose anymore weight but I am trying to continue to eat better, and drink more water. I workout 5 days a week and I do intense cardio and some circuit training. I try to eat about 1200-1400 calories per day and I find that it forces me to get the most nutrition out of my meals and really make them count. I just try to make healthier choices whenever I can. On weekends we may have events to attend both personal and business related but I still try to eat healthy when I'm not at home. That being said I don't deprive myself, if I do want a piece of cake or something every once in a while I have it.

I like cooking my own meals because I know exactly what is going into them.We travel a lot so I have to maintain my weight because every few months could be bikini season so it isn't necessarily a summer thing. Not only that but I just want to look great and feel healthy all the time.
I find that maintaining my weight and eating healthy is easy at home but when I'm away on vacation it is much harder, eating all meals out is a challenge! So sometimes I work out at the gym wherever I am.

Sometimes it's all the small changes that make a big difference.

Ok count me in.

I'm trying to decide if I should cut out carbs or juice more (juice for lunch).

Goal: 5 lbs
Exercise: at least 3 times a weeks
Water: more water
Food: cut back on the carbs, more veggies

3/15/13 - 126.6lbs, water intake up, no exercise

I cracked up at 3lbs. 3. Lol. I have more than that in water retention.

One of my boobs weighs more than 3lbs.

Sorry. Good luck. One day of water and salad and you should be good to go

5 lbs isn't a difference (for me, I fluctuate that in a day). I'm assuming the 5 lbers are below average height, because someone shorter losing 5lbs, I'd have to lose 10 lbs for it to be equivalent, maybe even 15. My one friend is 5'2 and lost 10 lbs once, very noticeable, I'd have to lose 20 lbs for it to be noticeable.

which is why I'm in this predicament in the first place, I still fit the same pants the same weigh(get it?? way...) I did 20 lbs ago. It makes no sense. NONE.

The body is magic.
I don't think it's fair to laugh at others' goals. For people who have hit a plateau, 3 lbs (or 5 or 10 or whatever) might be hard to do. It might even get them to their end goal. Let's try to be supportive rather than dismissive here.

As for me, no exercise planned for today. We might go for a long walk with the dogs and baby later this afternoon though.

I had steel cut oats with a tiny bit of butter, maple syrup and skim milk for breakfast. They are CRAZY filling.

Yoga tomorrow!

It's not "funny" funny, that's their goal and that's great.

But it's laughable me. And I'm laughing because it's sad (not pathetic, but it makes me sad so all I can do is laugh) It's like a sad laugh. You want to lose 5 lbs. hahahahahahahahha (*secretly cries because I need to lose 40 lbs)
