Default What don't you know about and care less?

I know nothing about sports and care less. Can barely distinguish a basketball from a football.

Know nothing about cars and care less. Can't tell a BMW from a Volks.

Does this belong in the confessions column?

What ordinary topics or products or ideas do you know nothing about and care even less? When people start discussing these things, do you tune out?

literary stuff as in what makes a book a classic, what doesn't, the "value" of some authors over others. I really don't understand a lot of it - I love books, I love to read -and if it's entertaining, I'm happy (and sometimes I have a hard time with the "classics" - I get bored or hate characters, etc)

I have friends who won't read certain authors and will quote passages saying "I can't believe how poorly written this is!" - it has to be really horrible for me to comment like that (I actually can't think of an example)

Sports, like you said. That is a topic I truly don't care about. I see there is more important things than that. Just my opinion.

Coffee makers (espresso makers?), keurig things. I don't know; I just go to a coffee shop

Sewing machines--just. I don't care. I can sew on a button with a needle and thread and that's it.

Economics! Jesus I took the AP course in high school but all I know is supply and demand in abtract terms. And I probably should care, but I just...don't.

It's really funny you say that because I am a college student and am taking Shakespeare. It's a great learning experience but some people get too carried away. If I don't like one of the plays, people look at me like I committed a crime. Just because it's a classic, doesn't mean it has to be liked. Like you said, if you like the book, you're happy. That is pretty much how I am.

In terms of coffee, I don't like how some people put down Dunkin Donuts because they go to Starbucks. Now, the coffee is different. But I feel that it's based more of status rather than taste. And it's like: it's coffee so drink it and shut up! Lol

So glad to read these responses! I was almost afraid to admit that I don't care at all about sports. People get so hot under the collar about all that. This bowl or that bowl puts me to sleep.

(I love the Olympics though for some reason.)

Thanks for chiming in, everyone who did.

Haha I actually usually go to Dunkin because a) they're closer to my job and b) they're cheaper and richer in taste c) they're waaay uncomplicated and fast.

But I do Starbucks sometimes. I'm relatively new to the whole coffee thing. I didn't start until like this past October so my taste isn't refined haha

I feel you. There are some sports I love to watch.

(Like football, but I'm from Texas so.)

But there are some (coughbaseballcough) that are just sooooooo painful to watch. And I don't know any rules about it besides bases.

I love to watch golf tho. NO ONE likes to watch golf haha.

Space and space exploration.

I know some people are really into it, but I'm not, and I don't care. Not only are we born of this planet but we evolved of this planet. I think anything we need would be found here since we're made up of it. I think its a total waste of money and resources to explore space. And I find it boring. And a little creepy.

I'm fascinated by many things on earth, but outside of it is a waste of my time.

sports

reality tv
college/higher education/degrees
designer clothes/shoes/purses
much of the electronics out there are of no interest to me - kindle, I-whatevers, etc

Reality shows and those types of stars

Actors/classic/popular movies. I usually don't know their names

Computer games

Wine

I know this is not what you asked but I find myself interested in things I was not before so less tuning out my coworkers and friends - sports(other than baseball, always have and will love that one), politics, religion, cooking, people talking about their kids and pets

Coffee. People would tell me the coffee in the office tasted weak, watered down, burnt, bad, good, whatever. I'd think, "No, it doesn't. How can you tell?" Pretty much all coffee tastes the same to me.

Edit: Same with beer. Good beer = bad beer = almost all beer. Except fruit beers, especially raspberry.

Cuisine/foodie talk
Fashion (I actually follow some fashion blogs and I like clothes, but I don't know a thing about fashion and I don't take it very seriously.)
Sports besides baseball
Cars
Home Improvement (I have no desire to learn how to fix anything)
Interior Design (I'm the chick with just a bed, table and chair in her bedroom)

Oh Po, We would have nothing to talk about. I love all the things you have no interest in (except sports & cars) and bees of any variety make me run wildly screaming.

I love you anyway.

Sports, especially baseball, and math. Like cp, I do love the Olympics, though.

Childbirth, most kids, schools, and parenting. (I like funny kids, though.)

Engines.

Romantic relationships. Women seem to try so much harder than men (mostly), and it's just sad and tiresome (to me) to hear them wondering what this action or that comment, text, or invitation means.

Bras.

Eyeshadow.
