Explosion reported near finish line of Boston Marathon

You can bet all of emergency services was ragging on the media (and making jokes) every chance they got. Please stand in my way, every moment, and not give me one second of peace, and several other people to worry about if something happens. That's all I need right now. I'm sure they said far (really, far) worse, and made some pretty crude jokes about the situation. I know I do. It's a common form of tension release.

On GMA I noticed press saying the head of Emergency Management was going to speak to them, they yelled at him, he threw his hand up, and walked off. He was on the phone but I chuckled. I could see my colleague doing the exact same thing. Really, ain't nobody got time for that.

Whew! Just glad that incredibly stressful part is over for those involved and those watching it unfold.

What really embarrassed me was the fact that so many Americans on Twitter and Facebook confused Chechnya for the Czech Republic that the Czech embassy had to release a statement explaining the difference.

The sheer ignorance of so many people is truly staggering.

The thing that strikes me is that he had a wife, child, a Mercedes and an apartment in an expensive area ... but no job. His younger brother also had an apartment and owned a Mercedes, yet was unemployed. Their father was back in Russia, where he worked as an auto mechanic. Who was paying their expenses (not to mention the cost of the large amount of firearms, ammo and explosives they had)?

Sorry I missed where you said that. Maybe there was a terrorist group supporting them. They seem like lone wolves so far, but that seems odd to me.

Probably the same ones providing 'military' training.

They will hopefully get the answers to these questions soon.

It would be nice if they would step away for awhile. Give some other news, take a break, etc. If on regular or local stations you can break back in, whenever you need. That beats the irresponsibility of talking simply to hear yourself talk.

Regarding the sensitivity of the situation, out of respect, I didn't feel it was the right time or place.

CNN was just sooooo inaccurate in the early days after this attack. It was almost as if they were relieved to have the West, Texas explosion to focus on for a couple of days in the middle.

We don't get Fox News in Canada but I was listening to them on XM radio at one point and even they seemed to be more reliable than CNN.
