Really scary! Hopefully it was something gone wrong, not intentional.

Straight craziness. I work in Boston and have many friends from college who currently live there. Still waiting to hear from other friends and hoping all who I know are okay. Everyone, please keep Boston in your prayers please.

Goodness. Just...

Keeping everyone in my thoughts. Just heard via AP/Boston PD (online) that it was intentional and two more devices were just dismantled.

This is horrible. I just heard they possibly found more devices.

I am keeping everyone in my T's & P's. I hope all of our Boston Curlies are okay.

Particularly as a runner, this really has me shaken.

My afternoon is shot. I feel like I'm going to puke.

I feel exactly the same way. Doing races is never going to be the same.

Two friends were running the marathon and spectating. They are both fine, thank goodness.

New York Post is reporting 12 dead, and also that there is a suspect in custody in a Boston hospital.

I am so glad your friends are ok. Per the police commissioner (just on local news) no suspects in custody. There is a heavy police presence at all of the hospitals where the injured were taken.

My grandfather lives near the starting line, and he always has a big party at his house. Marathon day is always a big deal in my family. Plus I have a few family members that run so I can imagine its pretty crazy over there.

Google has set up a person finder for those who are trying to find out if friends/loved ones are ok:

I don't know bc I'm not in close contact w my family. My only connection for information was my dad

I'm sure my grandfather is fine, and most family members. I'm concerned for those who may have been waiting for runners at the finish though.

My ex said if he had the day off he was thinking about taking the girls into Boston, but he ended up working. I don't think I would've let them go, but I don't want to think about it.
