Bikini challenge

Like Tree58Likes

I haven't worn a bikini for years, as I found tankinis much more comfortable. This year i was looking to replace my old one, only to find that none of the shops sold tankinis. I got really frustrated trying on one pieces as they were all either uncomfortable or didn't suit my body shape

I was lucky enough that someone recommended black milk swimsuits to me, they are an online only fashion store in Brisbane who mainly make leggings, bodycon dresses and swimsuits.

When they had a sale on, I took a gamble and ordered one, and to my surprise it was an absolutely perfect fit and looked fantastic on. I have since got quite a few more this is the last one I got (these are photos from their site, not me-- I don't actually have any photos of me in a swimsuit)

And these are are few others that I have got.

Oh Jospehine. You look absolutely stunning in that picture! The model you posted underneath, however, looks god awful. Far far too skinny.

I'm a little overweight, but I wear bikinis.
I wore mine a couple of weekends ago and Jim took a pic with his camera. He hasn't downloaded it yet. I'll post (maybe) when he does. I bought another one for this coming weekend. We are doing another swim party with his family and friends. This one is smaller. The nice thing is that the 1st one is a turquoise blue and the new one is turquoise blue, white, and black. I can interchange them. He suggested I wear the top of the 1st one with the bottoms to the new one. He feels the top is a little too skimpy for a family cookout. I agree.
I have a pic of me wearing my first bikini since before I got pregnant. It's surprisingly very attractive. I had to exchange it for a smaller size, but I'm not too disappointed with how it looks.

Jim emailed the pics and I downloaded them, but can't get them to copy over here. Not sure if it's my computer or me.
I wore a bikini for the first time this year last Saturday. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I have a pic I'm keeping as a before pic. I want to trim the fat by June/July.
I was able to put it in my avatar. I'll only leave it up for today.

I can't find the other bikini fitness thread -

So I've been working out(only for a week) but it has helped my stomach. Wearing a bikini this weekend (this time in Miami and at some big parties). Pleasantly surprised at whatever progress I made but itll probably go up this weekend as quickly as it went down, eeks.

I also bought a new one last night at Marshalls for $20. And 3 really cute coverups!
I packed 3 for Vegas (going tmrw!) I threw in a one piece with a skirted bottom, just in case I feel fat. I've been eating good, exercising, but I'm always bloated. I hate it! Nothing seems to work. I'm even taking fiber.

I'm still saving my bikini(i posted earlier) for the pool party(rehab) in vegas later on whenever I go.

I'm so excited to be on a boat and apparently there are some really fun parties in the keys this weekend. Probably nothing like Vegas but I wasn't even expecting all that.
I'll try the green tea...thx.
OK what part is the challenge?

For me, I'm debating whether or not I should/can wear a bikini since having laproscopic surgery - three incisions that are 1/4" and one that is almost 1". Two or four would be visible, depending on the cut of the bottoms and all are still red/brown.

You guys look really great! No lie!

SL,I say wear one. I was burned all over my body as a young child. The only scars are on my stomach.
spider, I think the 'challenge' is to be comfortable enough in our own bodies to wear what we want to wear. No matter our age or figure.

I have a 3-4" scar on my thigh that didn't heal very pretty, it looks like a shark bite. I'm still gonna wear a bikini (without a skirt to cover it).

Wear it, Spider! My appendix burst almost seven years ago and because it had already ruptured, the surgeon told me he couldn't do a laparoscopic surgery and I would have a four inch long scar. I immediately started crying and he thought it was because I couldn't wear a bikini anymore (yes. He actually said this to me. It was in SoCal. I was really crying because of the sudden news that my appendix had actually ruptured when all along everyone at the hospital had been "reassuring" me I would already be dead if it had and that I probably just had an ovarian cyst. Bikinis were literally the last thing on my mind). Now whenever I wear a bikini (I still don't get why he said I couldn't...), I rock my scar with pride (battle wound!!). Honestly I don't even notice it anymore.
