Thanks!!!!!

Does it get to a point where more States legalize it, then the whole country does, or does each have to make their own laws?

Each state makes its own laws regarding marriage (i.e., age of consent, whether gays can marry etc). The only way the whole country legalizes gay marriage is if 1) all 50 state legislatures do so individually (never going to happen), 2) the US Congress amends the Constitution to explicitly recognize the right of gays to marry (again, don't hold your breath), or 3) the US Supreme Court rules in favor of gay marriage as a fundamental right, which is the most likely outcome.

Yossarian, unfortunately, I don't see it happening in our state.

It's a happy day in America when a state decides to give equal rights to all it's citizens. Congrats to Rhode Island!

New Hampshire?!? Don't you mean Rhode Island? You better not step foot in New England with that ****!

One thing I learned yesterday is that gay people can now get married anywhere in New England! Proud of my region!

No, me neither. In some ways, FL really is the Deep South. Maybe if Crist is elected Gov ... then he can finally come out of the closet!

I keep reminding people about FL being the southernmost state in the USA and that's not just geographical either.

Lol regarding Charlie.

LOL! Thanks for the catch. I must have been tired...or drunk.

It is pretty cool that New England, land of the Puritans, is now a place that respects everyone's civil rights.
