I have a vet's appt in a hour an a half, but I think it may just be scared. It stops crying when I pick it up and/or pet it. I realized this morning that it may actually be a little blind, and looking for reassurance that I'm still in the room.

That's normal, they're born blind and deaf and develop it over time.

I found myself in possession of a little wee kitten that was separated from his mama last summer. He cried and cried and hissed at me because he was scared. I literally wore a hoodie whenever I was home, and put him in the little pouch on the sweater and just carried him around. He eventually would quiet down, but those first couple nights made me feel like an insane person.

Aw, I'm glad you rescued the little guy.

I have no real advice, but my parents did rescue two abandoned kittens (less then a week old) when they first married. Both survived, though one died due to a heart defect at 2, and the other suffered from feline leukemia for the rest of her life (she lived to 18,). They had to feed them using a bic pen with the ink tube taken out, they were that small.

I think if those two could make it, then your kitten should be fine, but he'll need some attention and extra care.

Heck, my cats are 12 and the girl still does the same thing. I can be outside and she will climb in the window and scream & cry until I come in. She is demanding! Always has been.

I hope the kitty is okay, and I am glad you rescued it. My cats mom was my kitty rescue. She was incredibly small, but healthy and strong. She is 13 and still going strong, with my mom.

Hi everyone! Checking in:

Little Yossarian (we call him Yoyo) got the all clear from the vet and was doing very well all week. He stopped crying, was playing and exploring, eating and sleeping well etc. during the day he was in New Jersey under the care of a friend, and in the afternoons I would visit (my friend works nights) to feed and play. So between us he got virtually 24 hr care.

Unfortunately this weekend he took a turn....I noticed on Friday that he seemed constipated. Then on Saturday he started having really bad diarrhea, and still does. It's yellow in color; I did some research and suspect its a parasite called coccidia. Unfortunately I cannot take a day off work until Tuesday.....in the meantime I'm adding pedialyte to his kmr, tokeep his electrolytes/hydration up. He was much more lethargic today and cried whenever he was awake.....I'm super worried. Tuesday can't come soon enough....

Thank you all do your support and words of advice! I will update when I know more.

He's awfully cute. Does he have extra digits? I'm rarely interested in the pet threads on here (even tho I like animals) but this one really has me on the edge of my seat...Tuesday is almost here! hoping he improves quickly!

Oh I hope to can get to the vet soon! This does not have to be a killer but in small kittens can be life threatening without prompt treatment. Such a sweet little thing!

And a few more pics, if possible...preferably showing his paws LOL? (I know I'm not the only one here who thinks they look like human hands!)
