Leather seats for cars

Like Tree6Likes

Are leather seats for a car worth it? It is so much money go get them and I've never had them. Cloth is fine for me. I have kids but they don't eat in the car. I was wondering if there is anything special about them, other than the price!
I've had both. I find leather much easier to clean.
I could go either way - leather or fabric but I would never specifically buy leather. I am not a fan of it in the summer. I do like Bs heated leather seats in the winter though.

I prefer leather because it's easier to clean and because heated seats require it. Once you have heated seats, you can't go back.

I agree with Mrs. P -- once you have heated leather seats, you don't go back to cloth. Unless you live somewhere where it's warm year round.

I think a lot of it depends on the texture and quality of the leather. I was never a huge fan of it until we bought our Murano 7 yrs. ago. The leather seats in that car are fabulous....soft, supple, and still look brand new!

I think leather is nice and definitely easier to clean. I'd imagine they suck in the summer.

I hate my leather seats. They are cracking. I wear lotion and the lotion destroyed my seat. Will never have them again. If you only keep your car a couple years, it doesnt matter.
Definitey leather. Car looks newer and better longer. I wouldn't buy without leather.
Cloth seats can't really be cleaned...and they can get pretty damned disgusting. I always get leather.

I hate leather seats only because they hear up In the sun and burn bare skin. It's a car, this shouldn't be an issue
I've only had cloth and I hate it because I have children. It looks horrible unless I shampoo it constantly! I used to have dark gray cloth and it looked pretty good.

But in the long run, I don't really care. I'm not a car person. And I don't see the big deal about heated seats. If you have leather seats, I can see why you'd want them to be heated because cold leather sucks (as does hot leather in the summer ouch!), but cloth is the same temp year round.

I live in Texas and have leather seats. I prefer it. Sure it's a little hot in the summer but you learn to place your tushy just right. Leather just cleans up so much easier than cloth with 2 kiddos it's a must.

I have cloth seats in my 11 year old car. They are fine but man are they gross. Plus, one has a hole in it from contact with back buttons on a pair of pants I wear a lot. Leather always feels a bit more comfortable to me.
I definitey prefer leather car seats! I'm a leather person; I like it in my car, in my house, on my feet, on my body, hanging off my arm, everything. I would even like to try a leather floor one day. LEATHER is what's up!

Admittedly, I don't treat or care for the leather...ppl always tell me I should but I'm afraid to put something greasy on it, forget and sit down and ruin my clothes. I have new leather now and I really want t preserve it bc it's so nice.
