I think the resemblance is unmistakable and uncanny. Whether it was intentional, IDK.

It would be a really adorable product...if the likeness wasn't Hitler's. Betty Boop or Mickey Mouse. Maybe Rihanna? LOL.

When you look at a photograph of the teapot, taken at a particular angle, you can see Hitler if you have him on your mind or someone tells you to look for it. I think it's ridiculous that this is a "thing" and that people are actually angry with JCP. It tells me:
1) Some people are just looking for stuff to be mad at.
2) It's been a slow news week.

I'm not saying that we can now joke about Hitler or the holocaust isn't horrifying. It's just that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

During the week (at work), I just use the hot water dispenser.

At home, I use the teapot on the stove. I have an electric kettle but I never use it.

This thread is making me want to make a big pitcher of iced tea. yum

I would live to find the one I posted, but first I need to find some reviews on it. I need to make sure that little red whistle blows.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I have been showing my friends the teapot. they think its cute. When I ask them if it look like hitler, then then look for it. it doesnt look like hitler or even make a person think of hitler unless they have hitler on the brain. I dont think the avg person thinks of the vile creature enough to see him in teapots. I get a christian seeing jesus in a piece of toast because that's a big part of their lives. but imo for someone to radomly see hitler in the teapot is strange. Why hitler on your brain?

i also realized my teapot has a very similar handle. and of course a spout so i can pour out my water for tea. doesnt all teapots have a spout so you can pour out the water?

How in the heck to you rationalize being mad a JCP for not seeing Hitler in a tea pot?

ETA: I told my mom about it, and then showed her the pic a few hours later. She paused, looked at it with a wha? expression on her face, and said... "So, where is Hitler?" I said, "Dead (thankfully). He's been that way for a while now."

She was expecting his face to be printed on the kettle or something. You know, something that would actually have merit.

^ I have seen pictures of some strange, older, ceramic, tea steeping pots actually sculpted in Hitlers likeness on line since this story broke. That's just effing creepy. I don't why anyone would want that.

A cute stainless steel kettle with a bell... Now that's a different story.

They are saying this one looks like Oliver Hardy from the famed comedy team of Laurel & Hardy.

With mine, I must have forgotten it on the stove and the water evaporated. So he had big blotches on his skin and his skin is just generally fragile and dry easily breaks off.

I think it's a beautiful teapot and would have never noticed the Hitler thing if it wasn't pointed out to me. I love Michael Graves' designs.
I have no clue if it was intentional, tho I seriously doubt it. What would be the point. People can make and buy what they choose. There probably ARE Hitler teapots out there somewhere.

Yep, not surprised. So what's the big effin deal? Things like this just make me want to go "Stop it people! Stop being such pu**ies! Quit being offended by everything, like pretty teapots!" Makes me grit my teeth.
