Coming from NW Pennsylvania where the first day of Buck season is almost as big a holiday as Christmas, I had to laugh at the whole conversation with the little 11 year old singer who wanted to buy a new hunting camp if she won the million dollars. Btw, she was quite the talented singer!
i don't know about the rest of you, but for me, the only two people i would *definitely* put through would be Brendan James the opera singer and Collins Key the magician!
after that, i'm just not sure: i like American Hitmen, but they didn't do well, Hype and Tellavision were less impressive this time around, and i think the comedy takes away from the 2 guys who do the strength act, the Kristef Brothers.
after that, it's no from me for the solo 11-year-old singer, Anna Christine, the child dance act Fresh Faces, Alexandria the Great, Special Head, comedian Kevin Downey Jr. (NOT funny!) and PLEASE NEVER AGAIN to "screechy girl"!!!
I have it dvr'ed and haven't watched it yet. Even so, I'm with you Rou -- no more screechy girl. I couldn't believe they put her through to begin with.
Just watched. Loved Collins Key and the Kristef Brothers. Brendan was good but we already have Josh Groban. Think the little girl dancers were more of a dance recital. Hope Special Head, screechy girl (glad Howard X'ed them) and Kevin Downey (comedian) do not go through. Rest were just so-so to me. Toss up as to who I would put through as my other two acts.
I was 2 out of 4 also. I think those 2 are 2 of the best out of all the acts this year.
Think of all the other acts Brendan James was probably a good choice. I was torn at who of the last two I would have put through. Guess in this case I would have thought she has a lot of years ahead of her because she is so young and the band doesn't; therefore, I was probably leaning more towards them.
I was so glad in the very first elimination two of the acts I didn't want to see go any further were cut -- screechy girl and the comedian.
Forte was the only standout act that should have (and did) go through.
I am shocked that Marty (the country singer) got through. I think he is OK, but even at his best, he is not great. I would have preferred to see the little Hawaiian girl go on.
Angela, the comedian, has potential but she really has to up her game to go any further.
Of the acts not going through, some of my thoughts. I think I remember from years ago that synchronized swimming acts do not make splashes. They move in and out of the water smoothly. This group was not top quality.
Hate danger acts; therefore, am glad I don't have to watch the sword swallower again.
When Howie said the Struck Boyz looked like the kids of the Housewives of Staten Island, I had to laugh. The first thing I thought of when I saw them was the Housewives of New Jersey, maybe because the one with glasses looked like Kathy's husband mini-me
Am glad I don't have to listen to B, double O, T Y again.
I agreed with the first three acts that went through. Was hoping the judges would put through the Chinese dance group, but then maybe they come across better on TV than on stage. I am sure the Chicago Boyz were more fun to watch in person, but on TV the synchronization of the Chinese troupe was amazing.
so far tonight, most everyone has been kind of blah...
with the exception of Timber Brown and SensEtion (yes, i know they had a technical problem).
the 3 Penny Choir rubbed me the wrong way, but they have since the beginning and i agree with the judges who said that the unicycling family just did more of the same stuff. that song was completely beyond the girl singing for The Robotix, she sounded flat to me and the little country singer, Chloe sounded off, too.
i can't stand the tummy guys - *sheesh* come ON already!
and geez, but that Cami Bradley sounds insipid to me!
i really LIKE Taylor Williamson; his gentle, shy, self-deprecating brand of comedy appeals to me when so much "comedy" seems to me foul-mouthed and based on insulting other people.
Aerial Ice were good, but the transitions between the tricks were boring and a bit time consuming.
i'm not sure about the juggler and his crazy dangerous stuff...
i think Jimmy is a better singer than Marty if we're talking about male country singers, but i still don't know... his performance was okay.
Timber Brown is the only one i see definitely going on. how about y'all?
Haven't watched yet, but without even seeing it, I want the tummy act to go. How they even got this far is beyond me. Was hoping Chloe, the little country singer, would have a good night. I loved her in the auditions. Will watch later today and post my thoughts.
I liked Timber Brown and Chloe. SensEtion did not wow me. The final male country singer, Jimmy, was OK; I didn't like him as well as the judges did though I think he is better than Marty (who never should have gotten through if you ask me). I like Taylor. He cracked me up the first time. Think his comedy was a little lax this time. The juggler does not entertain me. Cami was OK, but not as good as the judges made her out to be. 3 Penny Choir is not something I would want to watch a lot of. Not really sure who other than Timber and Chloe I would want to see go through. Think it was a slow night.
