Those earring things that give you the huge hole in your earlobe. The look like nuts (like nuts and bolts).

We always called the plugs. They freak me out too.

I live in Phoenix and there is the Phoenix look: daisy duke shorts with snow boots. I don't get it. Our winters are 70 degrees. Why would anyone do that to themselves?

I almost spit my coffee out! lmao this thread is killing me

I also do not like horizontal stripes. I really don't think they're flattering on anyone. Don't like skinny jeans either. Some stripes are okay, I have a maxi skirt with diagonal stripes that is flattering. But straight horizontal, just no.

Spikes on shoes! I'm on my phone and can't seem to link a pic but I'm seeing ballet flats and dressy pumps with spiky things coming out of them. BAD!

Here you go, Mad Scientist. This covers 2 trends disliked by some.

I like ballet flats but those ^^^ are just gross IMO w/ the mesh insets and the thin little criss cross straps and all the rugged-looking tread that's visible from the side.

I could maybe see someone wearing the above to a zumba class or w/ black leggings or something. But I see women in dress pants wearing them...and like in the winter w/ nylons. It's rather bizarre.

I love those sketcher walking shoes.
I also love spikes and studs but oh my heavens I came across these hideous things while looking for athletic shoes today. Who on earth would ever consider these legitimate athletic shoes?!

See I like the rugged look, those make it a little better. I like the first shoes you posted as well.

I keep picturing myself dressed up in all the things many of you hate and I love - skulls, spikes, animal print, skinny jeans, sketchers, yoga pants with words written across the back, partially tucked in shirt, asymmetrical hemmed dress, and a purse made out of skunk fur (alas I don't have that anymore but I loved that furry purse),
Of course most of these aren't trendy at all and have been around off and on for a long long time. I'm never what anyone would call trendy.

Awesome Fifi!!

To me its the unfortunate outcome when "edgy" people really want to bedazzle their shoes.

I've never figured out how to wear those rugged Mary Janes. Do you wear them with socks? And if so, what colour of sock?

Actually, all those things are trendy, but that doesn't mean many people intentionally follow trends. Many just wear what makes them happy or looks good on them. Skulls have been popular for a very long time. They have their lull's but they have recently exploded and crossed over to dress clothes, which is crazy imo.

I can't do the mullet dress. It looks awful on me. It's chops my body in half and makes me look shorter, but I am made for skinny jeans. I'm all legs. I love yoga pants, minus the butt graffit. Love animal print, though those ballet flats I posted are a no go! Really, I would hurt someone. I only own yeti/muppet bedroom slippers, no furry purses, but I have some hats that would probably make people cringe. Lol.

It's all a matter of opinion. Though I stand by product logo tattoo's being the dumbest trend ever.

Yeah, spikes used to be placed in locations where you were less likely to hurt yourself. I don't quite get that. I'd cross my legs and... OUCH!! Accidentally step on the back of someones shoe and AHH!! make them bleed. It wouldn't be pretty.

I've been thinking of this scene from The Devil Wears Prada the whole time I have been commenting and reading this thread. I think about it anytime trends are discussed. The great Ms. Streep was such a vicious B in this, but she cracked me up.

This thread is hilarious! I don't really understand the fascination with the moustaches, owls and skulls either...I don't necessarily hate it but I find it odd. I do detest crocs...and they come in the brightest colours to make sure you cant miss them. I never jumped on the ugg bandwagon either, I just never found them flattering. Some of the previous trends I don't like are grills...and when men wear their pants hanging down to show their underwear. If some of those boys knew how that trend came about I doubt they would be so quick to follow. I don't like those MC hammer pants either.
