Thank you all so much for the kind thoughts, good vibes, prayers and well-wishes. I am truly amazed by all the love I've been receiving. Literally, getting cards from people I don't know (I live in a rural "everybody knows everybody" place), but who know friends of mine. It's incredible. I've always heard about such things, but when it happens to you, it is so humbling that it can't be expressed in words.

I'm doing well. "They" tell me I did great in surgery although I remember none of it, just as I had hoped. I was extremely sore afterwards but that is getting better each day. If I can get these friggin' tubes/drains out of me (I have 4!) I'll feel like a million bucks! I'm hoping at least some of them can be pulled on Monday when I go back to the plastic surgeon. They hinder all facets of my life, and we just can't have that now, can we?? Next step, chemo. I will have to do the more aggressive of the 2 regimens the oncologist explained to me because the cancer has spread to some of the lymph nodes, but I'm very hopeful that it's not too bad. I don't have the full path report yet. DH has been quite the little nurse....emptying my drains, changing the dressings, washing my hair, and waiting on me hand and foot. He's been a real trooper...definitely proving he was serious about the "or for worse" part. I haven't looked yet...have no desire to see 4 tubes coming out of my body...but he says the new girls are looking good and he thinks I will be pleased.

Thank you all again, so much. I'll keep you posted.

VTmom, I want to send you gentle hugs, but I'm more of a rough hugger, so I'll pretend to give you a gentle hug while squeezing the carp out of you.

I think you can handle it.
