Is there a time function? I need to be able to add 5 minutes to every cell going down and can't figure it out!

So it would be
10:00
10:05
10:10

I've tried a few formulas and it keeps just giving me 10:00.
I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

Hi CurlyCanadian, with 10:00 in A1, make sure that the entire column is in time format. In cell A2 type =(A1+5/1440). The 1440 is because there are 1440 minutes in a day and 5/1440 is the fraction of time that you want each cell to increment by. Then just copy the formula down as far as you need to.

This works but there may be better ways to do this. Hope that helps!

Can't you: time format your column or row, type 10:00 in cell one and 10:05 in cell 2, then use the mouse to drag the little box in the bottom right corner of cell 2 down as far as you need it to go? Under the Format menu is there a box to set the time in increments of 5?
No MAS.

WanderLust....you're awesome!!!!!!

Only issue, is when it hits 12pm, it goes to 0:00(in the 13:30 format). If I chance the format (1:30pm), in only comes up in AM. Can I change that?

Tried it TNBs way and it keeps diverting to a time function and I get errors. Thanks for the suggestion though!

So I'm at my parents and doing these sheets for my Mom. My Dad is looking over my shoulder and is like "WTH is this hair thing?!?" I told him, he laughed at me, then even more when I said I would have an answer shortly!

It old him you guys had figured it out!!! When my Mom came back from the barn my Dad was telling her, then said "And the riders (the lists are for horse show start times) can now be sorted by hair type!!! We'll let the frizzy go earliest before it gets too humid!"

Hmm that is strange. When I try it, it goes to 12:00 p.m. Which version of Excel do you have? Mine is 2007.

When you tried using TNB's method, what type of error message did you receive?

I just tried this with Excel 2011 (for Mac):

Format the column as Time.

Put 10:00 in cell 1, and 10:05 in cell 2. Select BOTH cells and then drag the bottom right corner of the box down for as many cells as you need. You need to have both cells selected so Excel 'knows' to copy the increment.
