Have I missed something big around here??

Yes, you were very busy, Scrills. Thanks for all the info.
From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."
I really don't think anyone was storming off to FB in a huff or that it was any one particular thing that happened. We just wanted a place where we could express ourselves freely as adults, and we wanted to regain a sense of community and friendship. That's all.
I got the impression that it was more in protest against the rules here. It really isn't a big deal.

yeah, it wasn't a storm, it was a welcome. (especially for me as I was banned at the time)

I didn't go to FB in a huff. I went there for fun. I'm still here too.

misspam left before the Wile debacle, but without violating her privacy (missp's), I think it's safe to say that Wile was a factor.

No one mentioned Wile's regular use of the term "Messican". That always me uncomfortable.

^^ there was actually a thread about that (messican), she wouldn't back down, wouldn't apologize for offending people, drug it to several other threads. Ugh

I did not leave in protest. Well. I never left. I just don't enjoy it as much as I used to. And I am happy about the Facebook group because I would really miss the people. Well. Most of them

The thing she said that seemed to be the last straw was presuming Trayvon Martin guilty. The expression she used was, "Mark my words. Dude was a thug."

Personally, I disagreed w/ her having been censured for the Trayvon Martin comments. It's a valid opinion. I don't agree w/ that opinion, but it was her right to say it. There are plenty of other ppl, even Black ppl saying it. That's what the whole trial boiled down to - did TM start the fight. Maybe her "tone" was insensitive but come on, it's certainly not the worst we've read here on NC.

I think NC made a bad call on that one.
