Default What to bring to a BBQ/block party?

I'm very happy that I've been invited to a BBQ/block party and I'd like to bring something.

I'm really touched and honored that I have been invited. The family throwing this party is Vietnamese and I hired two young sisters many years ago; I'm tickled that they are including me.

OK - I DON'T cook. Please don't give me simple recipes - waste of time. We don't want to poison anyone.

I live near a great Whole Foods. What should I get? A fancy cake? Godiva chocolates? I have no clue. What is appropriate? Also, should I bring a special gift for the hostess, like fancy bath soaps or is that not appropriate?

Suggestions welcome!

Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Experimenting with cones & sulfates while the dews are high. Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
