Breaking Bad Thread, anyone?

I'm just going to go ahead a say this too, with out worrying about putting it in white. Imo, it's not really a spoiler anyway. Just a character discussion (especially if I limit my details and just keep the main focus at the start).

When it comes to Skyler, I have heard so many people say they hate her. More people seem to dislike her than Walt, when he has actually done more harm. I think it's because some can't understand why she can not understand Walt's actions. Especially when it comes to the first seasons and male viewers. Many see a sick man doing what he feels like he has to do, for his family, in a bad situation. They see her as a rip roaring B with no understanding. I saw her as a very smart/aware woman who knew something was wrong, but wasn't sure what. *Walt is very intelligent, and chances are low that he would be attracted to a ding bat so he should have known better * She knows her husband, she knows something is different, he will not open up, and it's eating away at her. I don't know why it was hard for so many to identify with her, but it was. Both characters evolve, adjust and change with/to their surroundings through out the show. The situation isn't a good one, and that will take it's toll.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I agree with you on Skyler, he was emotionally abusive and manipulative ... bad situation, no good choices.

I thought Cranston's acting during that phone call was amazing ... again trying not to post spoilers. Just amazing!!!

The phone call has to be one of my favorite moments in television history.

I love Skyler. She's been a wonderful mother and supportive wife, even though her husband was lying to her all the time and manipulating her at every turn. She's not a weak woman...perhaps that's why men don't like her?

Plus, she wears kick-ass jewelry.

Ok, it was good, but with just a few episodes left, it wasn't anything near what I was expecting!!! There is just not enough time left to wrap this up!!!!!!

If you are using DVR make sure you set extra time ... The last two episodes are one hour and fifteen minutes (according to my husband)

How they've written Jesse is breaking my heart. How much torment are they going to put this man through?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is just not enough time to finish this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I agree, poor Jesse I want Mike to be alive and come get him, he seemed best when "working" with him.

So how does everyone think it's going to end?

I think he's going to go back, find Skylar and the kids and they'll all take off togeather. Marie will try and stop them, or call the cops, but they'll get away.

It breaks my heart to think what might happen with Jesse. I hope Walt goes and saves him, but I don't think that'll happen after Walt telling him about the girlfriend.

Omg tonight is the night!!! I think he's going to go back to kill the guys who killed hank and maybe use the ricin on either himself bc he's dying anyway or possibly Gretchen and Elliot??? They did bring them back to kick him where it really hurts last week .... I'm so excited

I find it curious that people are, still at this late in the game, rooting for Walt. I read this yesterday:

Point Of View: How So Many Rooted For 'Breaking Bad's' Walter White : Monkey See : NPR

Could be the case. . . I was rooting for Walt up until the very end of Season 2, but it's been pointed out to me that the time we really ought to have realized Walt was doing all of this not for the love of family but for his own pride was when Gretchen and Elliot offered to pay for his cancer treatment, no strings attached, and he turned it down. Anyways, I can't wait for tonight! I'm going to go see "Rush" but I'm aiming to be home before 11 if I can help it so I'll be able to watch the darn show and hopefully, for once, get a near full night's sleep. Of course if it's as emotionally powerful as it's promising to be I probably won't sleep again. Thank goodness this show is ending, eh? It's been tormenting me for years.

I've long since given up hope that Walt has any good left. If they write it in, I won't be surprised but....nope. He's pure evil in my opinion.

I don't know if he's pure evil, but considering it's a show that deals with moral complexity, he is sinister as hell and what makes it all the scarier is that he doesn't realize it. Giving Holly back to Skyler and then trying to orchestrate that phone call to exonerate her were some good moves. Not to say they redeemed him. If anything he's too far gone. He blamed Jesse for Hank's death because it felt better than blaming himself. I think Gretchen said it best when she proclaimed that Walter White was gone. All that's left is this weak travesty of a gangster--Heisenberg.

Anyways, I had a horrible thought. Guys, what if after Andrea's death Jesse completely loses it and breaks bad? I mean, yes, we all know that he'd kill Walt given the chance, but what if he's loses it enough to go after the Whites? By that I mean Skyler, Walt Jr. and the baby? Wouldn't that be the ultimate tragic ending? I'm not saying it's likely, but after my friends and I were speculating that Jesse is probably in no fit mental state to carry on any longer (he was better off dead), I started thinking about when Skyler told Walt to kill Jesse. And how Walt said that Jesse wouldn't hurt anyone. But then he also never anticipated that Jesse would "rat" him out to the DEA, either. Could it be that none of us know Jesse as well as we think we do? Moreover, could it be that--just as Walter White turned into Heisenberg--the old Jesse Pinkman is gone for good? Err, bad?

Okay. Off not to think about this for a couple of hours.

Amazing. I'm so sad it's over.

It was the best episode ever! Well, the best since two episodes ago. But seriously--completely the flipside of all my dystopian imaginings and worst fears. I mean it was still incredibly tragic and all but as far as tying up loose ends and giving the viewer a sense of redemption, it was perfect. Walt admitted he was selfish. He saved Jesse. Jesse actually looked happy and still sane, which was such a blessing. Todd got choked to death. The ricin actually was for Lydia which is what I'd envisioned all along. Damn, it was awesome! I'm so pleased. And yes, I am incredibly sad it's over, too, because what will I watch now? My only complaint was that I would've liked to have seen more of Marie but she seems all right. I guess I should be thankful for that. Everyone I watched it with and the people texting me are saying they loved the ending, too.

I don't want to spoil it for you but it wrapped up well. Very well. The media's saying people are praising its ending as much as they were complaining about Dexter's.
