Default Fabric Help!

So I got this bench for $10 on Kijiji.

Refinished it (legs will eventually be black, have two sizes though and deciding if it should be a little shorter)...

What do you think of the blue covering the seat? Leave the grey? Maybe a couple of little throw pillows in the blue?

The black is sheer, and the designs are a very fine velvet in blue and grey.

I like very deep or surprising brights for pieces like this.

Great find!

So cover the seat in blue? I've had it draped over all afternoon and am really liking it

I don't think my screen is showing the non-patterned fabric as blue. It looks more like a dull violet.

Of course, if it matches your decor and you like it, go with that.

So I went with the blue. Which in hindsight, is going to be an issue with the velvet and two cats!

You know, I was going to ask you about pets, but I forgot.

If only plastic covering came in decent colors.......she says as she lives with one vintage chair completely draped in white sheets with a broom on top to deter all animal interest.

Lol so true!!!! Everything in my house seems to be a cat bed! They both go to sleep with me at night, but I find them each in a different spare room in the morning.

This is definitely the new hot spot!

Totally! The little one is usually the bully, I'm surprised she hasn't pushed the other one off yet!

Sorry, I reread what I wrote and it didn't make much sense!

The bench is in grey, and the piece I covered the seat in is blue/black.

Gotcha.

Given the feline claim, I would invest in some nice, strong sticky tape or a good quality lint roller for removing hair.

Or would you like me to send you one from my own enormous stash?

An open bench at the top of the stairs, with good viewing of all that is theirs? How could you not think this was going to be a cat throne...er um bench?

Kitties love velvet.

They hate each other, and I woke up this morning to them asleep at opposite ends of it

It's the friendship bench.

Let's have a christening with catnip.

This is so very true. They require a good view of their loyal subjects and lands.

I like the blue and black fabric, CC. It's very pretty, and I am sure a rather comfortable luxury.

This is my kitty throne, funky goat heads and all. It was intended to be the perfect spot to put on my shoes, but alas I have no claim to it. It's also the perfect spot to play Queen or King of the Hill.

I will need to recover it soon, and I am considering fabrics. I found it at a antique store, several years ago. I love it as is but the cat's have worn it out.

The bench might be just like that Get-Along-T-Shirt that has swept the internet.
