Default Car accident, question

My car is 5 years old but still looks new. About an hour ago, I was returning from picking up my CSA share, just sitting at a red light within a mile of my home, when a passenger truck rear ended me. I actually made eye contact with him in the mirror as he approached my car....at the time he was clearly slowing down. I'm assuming he misjudged the distance between us. He must have been going between 3 and 10 mph. We pulled over and visually inspected each car. I was pretty annoyed. He said he meant to brake. He was clearly at fault.

There was no visible damage to either vehicle. I told him I hope he drives more carefully and we parted ways. I didn't get his name, info, make and model of car, license plate....nothing. I think I was just shocked that I was rear ended. (I haven't been in a car accident in over a decade.) But I did notice other things about him, like his style of dress and that his car was much older than mine. Basically I could clearly tell this person was lower income than me. It was a little more than a tap, it felt like what happens when I'm parking at home and hit the wall behind my parking space, or once in the past I did back up into a street lamp. I get my car aligned twice a year, and I'm due for one in a month or so.

How screwed am I?

3 to 10 mph?

"There was no visible damage to either vehicle..."

I guess I don't see how you'd be screwed at all.

I wouldn't worry too much because it's the back of the vehicle.

I felt really dumb for not even getting the guy's name and car make, model, and license plate. Maybe I'm just over thinking this.

Number 1, I am glad you are okay! Number 2, I wouldn't worry about being screwed if there is no damage. Officers would have taken your collective info and given you a non reportable case number. If it's anything under a specific amount of damage, the really can't do anything. It's $1000 in my county, and honestly takes nothing to reach that amount. A dent in your bumper meets requirements, where a scratch or broken mirror wouldn't.

Our bumpers matched perfectly on impact. There is a scratch on the bumper. I even checked under the bumper, looks like the same deal before impact. Hope everything's fine.

He couldn't even blame traffic for the accident....it was so early in the morning that there were like 5 cars waiting at the light. Hope he doesn't hit anyone else.
