she is now my wife. We got married in a big Greek ceremony in November, and are now sharing housekeeping. It's still as exciting as that first night.

congrats Justin! didn't you meet her at an outdoor cafe or something? or maybe you told a story about someone getting mad about you having your dog at an outside table...

Our first official date was at an outdoor cafe, and some poeple did get upset that my dog was there.
I actually met her at a dive bar that was having karaoke night - she was singing, and I was drinking. I picked her up at 8pm and hung out with her (read: made out) until approximately 7am, when she had to leave to go teach her kindergarten class - we haven't really stopped hanging out since.

It wouldn't be scary...just weird I guess. I have been here for a long time and it is weird for me to think that people that I "talk" to everyday have no way of knowing if I was gone or not...

I just used up the last of the care package of stuff that you sent me about a month ago - I did manage to find the pomade one more time, but never again.
The T- shirt you sent me is one of my favorites - I look great in it.

I still lurk from time to time. Mainly on the hair boards but there's not much info for 4a afro textured hair anymore so there not a lot for me to read or comment on.
I miss my member number too, I think it was 255
* waving* Hey everybody!

I used to post a lot too. My boss is on vacation this week, well, will be back tomorrow
So this week I've been in a posting frenzy. It's good to see everyone. Some things have changed. But some things will never change about NC. It's a nutty nutty bunch over here and this is the only board I know that has that atmosphere. Hopefully, I get to post again around Memorial day. (Waves)

I've been more of a lurker than a poster for the past year as well. We also just built a new home and right now about 95% of my free-time is being poured into that.
It's nice to see all of the new posters... and when I visit the GD board, it's interesting to see how 'old hair trends' are being revisted by many of the newbies.
Hugs to all!
Sherry L. <-- haven't used that in a looooong time

Maybe there should have been a 5th choice along the lines of:
- maybe they gave up not getting much response to their posts (or worse got frightened away because they were attacked or insulted without cause)
Sorry to butt in since I am not an old member but this is good place to sort of voice what this board can look like to a newcomer.
I am pretty new (registered a couple of months ago) but I lurked for a few weeks before that. On the GD side I have gotten a decent enough response but on this board aside from being attacked and insulted once for no reason at all I feel mostly like I am talking to myself or something. Maybe there are way more members than I am aware and have unrealistic expectations (or maybe my posts are boring or annoying) but I have not had that experience on other boards so I have wondered whether there is like a 'clique' on this board or something and you sort of get ignored until you are around long enough. Perhaps most of the people on this board are much younger than I (mid thirties) and this accounts for it - I don't know but maybe lots of people just move on if no one talks to them or there is no one to talk to?
Try talking to some of us new members and maybe soon you might like us as much as the old ones?
