I resolved to keep my handbag/purse organized...

I bought a new wallet and got rid of extra credit cards and other's that expired.
Fortune favors the bold.
I make sure I buy just the right size purse, nothing too big or too heavy and nothing too small. 12-14 wide x 10-12 high x 3-4 deep is about perfect for me.
I never just throw things in willy nilly.
My purse holds my phone, keys, checkbook, pocket calendar, eyeglasses case, sunglasses case, a wallet/change purse that holds money/ID/credit cards, and a makeup bag that holds all my misc stuff (pills, blush, mascara, lipstick, tampons, sewing kit, tweezers, tea, splenda, pen, floss pics).
I like to change purses every couple weeks and it only takes a few seconds to switch over.

Did you see the special on GMA, or one of the nightly news shows where they stopped women on the street and asked if they could weigh their handbags? Most ranged from 13-20+ lbs. They then discussed how harmful this is for your body and how it throws everything about your posture out of line due to that much weight typically being carried on one shoulder or arm. Even when you walk w/o a purse, your body continues leaning to one side.

My mom is constantly seeking ways to lighten her load, and she only carries a wallet, pocket calendar, keys and her glasses. Anything else is feather light. Sometimes the bags alone are heavy. It kills her arthritis.

I routinely carry only a large wallet, large key chain, medium size make up bag, large sunglasses case, large phone, several packs of gum, random mail and possibly a book or magazine. But I will also stuff in a change of shoes (not tiny ballet flats, either) and also my lunch and/or breakfast with cans or bottles of beverages, too. I don't carry that around all day but walking to and from my car, I look like i'm backpacking cross country.

When I go to work I take everything but the kitchen sink. On days I have a little makeup, always have hand creams and my phone charger, headphones, books, magazines, etc. I keep all of my food items in a nice lunch bag that looks almost like a wooden handled 70's purse. I found it at Belk, 70% off, last winter. I throw all my food in it so none of it goes in my purse anymore.

*I do need to get another backpack. I never carried purses in my teens and 20's. I used my dads Army issue packs, and a had a very nice back pack with a rubber bottom. It could put it in water if you had to. (I was always the girls in the corner pulling jars of peanut butter, music and strobe lights out of my bag while getting wth? looks. I came prepared). Now I only have one small cloth book bag remaining, and the smallest of dads packs. They are a little worn out.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I have noticed one of my arms is significantly stronger than the other. I need a smaller purse to trick myself into carrying less.

Low-poo: Looking for a new one.
Condish: V05 Tea Therapy, Body Shop Banana
Leave in: Giovanni Direct Leave In
PT: My hair needs very little. I use Suave Naturals Coconut when I need a little bit and follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.
Styler: Giovanni LA

Go Red Wings!

Like others, I found that if I had a bigger purse, I carried more stuff. So I carry a relatively small bag that usually just has my phone, wallet, cosmetic case, pens, tissue and sometimes sunglasses.
I've tried buying smaller bags so I'll carry fewer things and it just doesn't work for me. I wound up getting rid of the bags and losing a lot of money. I need a big bag.
