Not yet. They're sending me the info.

I can't believe people don't vote. I love voting, and I get to see my nemesis, an old lady in a Rerun (or Boogie) cap who made fun of one of my poodles (strike one), and then accidentally tore my ballot (strike two) when attempting to demonstrate how poorly defined the tear strip was. I got a letter from the Board of Elections for that one, when I had to do a make-up ballot.

Now I yell, "Stay away from my ballot!" when she comes near me.

She bugs other people, too. Just saying.

Her first mistake was making fun of my dog, all those years ago.
I was a poll worker for the Gore v Bush election. The polls open in NY at 6 and don't close until 9 but I was there for about another hour or so after that to clean up, so I had an extremely long day. There was high turnout for that election and I found it draining directing people to their correct district and having people yell at me because they'd moved but their names weren't on the register. I swore I'd never do it again.

I'm finally getting a much-needed haircut. I've kept putting it off (salon is in Brooklyn), but I made an appointment so that I have no choice but to go today!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Of course, a vacation would be better, but that's not really possible right now. Although, I did get invited to scenic Columbus, Ohio for a day this week. (I'm skipping it.)
Yay, spring! I got mine a couple of hours ago. Goodbye, split ends!
How did Saria's haircut go?

How long is it now, Saria?
w00t, w00t!! No more split ends! Your hair is so beautiful too, bet it looks fabulous!

I can't wait, my hair is a freakin nightmare of yuck right now. I haven't had any color on my hair in over 10 years and I've never had highlights, should be interesting.

Thanks, TRBL and spring!

Ninja, it annoys me a little how short my hair looks compared to how long it actually is. It's about BSL when dry and curly, and about down to my belly button when wet. I only had him pick up my layers and get rid of the bad ends, so I didn't lose much length.

I figured you were busy admiring yourself in the mirror and ignoring us.

That's a lot of shrinkage, frankly. Or is it, for your hair type?

Yes, a lot of shrinkage. One day I'll have it as long as I want it to be when it's dry!
He had a hard time combing it through, as I do because it's so long. He reminded me to do vinegar rinse to help with the tangling.

Okay, deep breaths, you can do this, it's just a few days, you will survive, you can do this, you can do this, you can do this.

You're welcome.
Suddenly all the other assistants are out for the rest of the week (or parts of it). So I am left handling my department, as well as a number of other high level executives, some of them (okay one in particular) are... errr, umm, high maintenance you might say. And since it is unexpected, I'm kind of floundering as to what loose ends are out there that need to be tied up, what can wait etc. Normally it wouldn't be so bad, but with the co-worker situation that I deal with, next week could be ugly (when everyone is back & wondering why the hell I did or didn't do something).
