Note to self: Once a thread gets out-of-the-park emotional, it's hard to have a rational discussion.....

I think I might be developing a crush on him Saria! Are all of the River Cottage cookbooks so delightful?

The Cornish put strawberry jam on their scones first, then the clotted cream; in Devon and Dorset, it is customary to do it the other way around. Personally I prefer raspberry jam and I always put the jam on first, even though I live on the Devon-Dorset border."
I love that passage! I much prefer raspberry as well. I'm trying to remember the order I do my jam and clotted cream.....

The Pam Corbin Preserves handbooks (she has cool stuff like making your own bouillon cubes and apple curd) are still on my Wishlist, but they're just as user-friendly. None are quite as charming and cute as Daniel Stevens' book though. The photos of his hands handling dough are quite nice as well.

The meat book is extremely useful as well.
And River Cottage Everyday looks to be a great volume for dinner ideas for home cooks.

I want a do-over on today. Better yet, just let it end now and bring on tomorrow.

I wasted a whole day reading the wrong chapter for my Psych class. And it was a really boring chapter.

I love the term "salty". I heard it used to reference Liz Taylor today. I wonder if I have enough in me to be considered salty.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Damn whoever mentioned damnyouautocorrect.com.
It's one of the few sites that aren't blocked from my office, and I can't stop looking at it.

I do like the cream tea description, Saria. However, I always disgrace myself to such an extent on such occasions that I have no inkling a'tall what goes where, besides my mouth.

And while I'm on the subject of embarrassing myself with British food admissions, I walked around Cambridge positively stuffing myself with pasties. I had a perpetual mustache of crumbs in my lipstick. I'd do it again, too.

It was all worth it!

(Calorie induced maniacal laughter here.)

Actually someone else started a thread about it and I think I bumped it recently.
