I've posted about this twice already, but here I go again.. I'm hoping if I post about it I'll keep myself in check!

About 15 years ago a book came out (A Game of Thrones), the first book in a series (A Song of Ice and Fire), I read it & liked it. However the author took forever to put out the second book, but he finally did and I bought it & read it. After that I stopped following the series, it just fell off my radar.

Fast forward to about 6 months ago... I found a blog/reread of a different series that I've been reading for nearly 20 years (Wheel of Time). This blogger is hilarious and brings up a lot of points, makes a lot of connections that I sometimes miss. About 3 weeks ago she announced that she is going to be reading/blogging/recapping the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I decided I'd read the series with her. The thing is, she is only reading 2 chapters a week!!! It's killing me. She is posting on Fridays so I'm making myself wait until Thursday to read the chapters. I want to devour the book again!

Tell me I'm doing the right thing, exercising restraint is good, right? RIGHT???

Uh, no? Just read the whole thing and be done with it, TRBLmaker!

Jeepy also cuts into hot bread, bypasses fabulous shoes, and likes Anthony Bourdain. That's not an example you want to follow.

But, but there are now 4 books in the series, with the 5th being published in July.. If I don't stop myself from reading ahead, then the next few days/week will be spend devouring all of them, and I'll be all impatient waiting on the 5th.

I kinda thought it would be fun pacing myself with her, especially when we get to the books that I haven't read yet. Gah.. I'm so torn!

SHEESH!!! I am the morning teacher, and I am here for seven hours a day! You are here for THREE!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT rearrange everything in my room and throw stuff away just because you have a way you want things.... if you are going to take my place when I leave each day, I expect to find things the way I left them. If you have suggestions, ask first, but PLEASE don't take it upon yourself to change everything in my room!!!!!

hahaha. But I'm nice to animals and old people, I say please and thank you, I quit smoking, and I don't curse more than a couple times a day. So that kinda makes up for it right? : )

It does show up as just a quote, doesn't it? I'm on android and can't see who the quote is from.

This is a test.

I went to the app settings and turned on the 'Show Quoted Image' option. I think that's what I did on my iPhone. Let's see if it works here.

ETA: I see the quote but not who it was that I quoted. Hopefully this will be fixed.

Actually YGG is a hugely popular kids show and has famous/semi-famous people on it all the time. I thought AB was terrible in there. But I think he thinks he is a rock star foodie when he really is just a jacka$$.

My initial reaction was a certain twinge of embarrassment and a need to get the hell out of that thread, because that kind of nonsense is the type of sh*t they love to feed people on the island. Pump the people full of stupid superstitions that keep them fearful, jumping to backwards conclusions, and ignorant. It holds back progress. And I can understand when the impoverished masses believe it, because they'll eat up anything you feed them. But when a presumably educated person who has seen more of the world than just the picture painted by those interested in maintaining the status quo and those who don't know better spews out that silliness, I really do want to die of embarrassment, as wrong a reaction as that might be. It doesn't help when the person then moves on to actually say she's going to be saved while the rest of us going to hell.
And on that note, I'm quite okay with my inevitable descent into the fiery pits of hell. I'll be dead anyway. What do I care?
