Boo! The school I really wanted to go to recently dropped my major, it seems. Ugh! I'm so so so so over this whole process. I might cry. There's only two other schools in the area that offer this program... One of which I could never get into, and the other is huge and overwhelming and a pain in the butt to get to. Sigh.
Back to the drawing board.

Why don't I ever learn? I always put off studying until the last minute and beat myself up for it after my test. I hate cramming.

I feel like such a terrible friend for hoping you don't get in. Yes, it would look excellent on college applications, but I really don't think you would be happy there. Its far away, you wouldn't have your instrument, and you couldn't knit during class or have horror movie marathons with everybody. And I (and everyone else) like you here....

If you're interested in reading it to finish the series, get it from the library. Not worth a but. The Land of Painted Caves is the title if you want to read the Amazon reviews.
500 pages describing cave art. Some time of J&A acting like idiots a la Mammoth Hunters, and Ayla, in all her Mary Sue-ness bringing on the beginnings of patriarchy. It was sooooo disappointingly bad.

Note to self: when hit with a very rare, uncharacteristic craving for chocolate do not make brownies when the craving is for an intense, barely sweet nutty torte or an airy but truffle-like souffle. No matter how chocolatey and fudgey, brownies are just too sweet to satisfy that craving. Now you have a bunch of brownies and no real desire to eat them because they are not what you really wanted.

I was on my laptop and accidentally clicked on my profile, I decided to look at it. Did y'all know there's a section on the bottom where it tells you how many people have looked at your profile and shows the last few people that visited. Weird! Sigh...500 pages of cave art descriptions? Oy...just like there were 500 pages of greeting-the-wolf and 200 pages of boiling-the-tea-water-with-hot-rocks descriptions in the last book.
I already requested it from my library, because, well, I've been reading them since 1986, so I feel I HAVE to finish the series.
The author has really slipped. The last few books have been abominable. I really only liked Clan of the Cave Bear and Valley of Horses.
I hope this is the end...
Off to slog through another book of Jondalar and his huge huge c&ck and Ayla and her deep deep moistness...
