I have to take AP Anatomy and Physiology and AP Bio senior year and I have to dissect a pig, kittens, and a ....dog? I think. I'm going to be the weird girl sobbing in a corner.....
Ugh, I made it through. Everyone was joking and laughing....we had to label our pigs for use next week...everyone else named theirs Wilbur, or the like...I named mine "Poor little fetal pig"

Kittens and a dog? Noooo!!!
I did a fetal pig for Biology and it wasn't too bad. From what I understood they were from a slaughterhouse anyway, if it makes it any better.

I was not fond of the cat. I am a cat person. I wouldn't think they would ever do a kitten.

I've seen ours, and they're definitely little kittens. Like, 3-5 months old.

Today, after a very long conversation in which I had to explain several times why we couldn't do what he was asking us to do, a doctor--and one of the directors of the hospital--asked, "Well then who makes state law?!"

I almost severed my tongue I bit it so hard.

yes, the professor did explain at beginning of class that they were from a slaughter house. Not sure if that made it better, or not. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but I think I'd have to skip class if it had been a 3 month old kitten.

Went to get in the car to go to work, and found that it had been egged in the middle of the night....
spilled hot coffee in my lap on the way...
and woke up with a giant zit.

Is this the kind of day it's going to be?!

OMFG, I don't even know what to say to this. I am that flabbergasted that someone has the gall to spew this ****ing drivel:

Quote:
There's the dictionary definition of "feminist" and then there's what that word means to most people. I'm not going with the elitist version, just the one people use. I know so many cool chicks (I suppose now 'chick' will ruffle some feathers) who see the same ridiculousness I do in all this. @arjava, wow, look how angry and resentful you are toward men "standing around... with their fingers up their asses." Really? Perhaps you've been treated poorly, but not by me. Who the hell points to a woman and expects her to jump? I go back to the general sense of disappointment that women, in the workplace, fear doing anything considered subservient, yet many go home and fall right back into that role. I'm not forcing anyone to do anything. The smart woman who wants to get along with people does not walk around with a grudge. This resentful, confrontational attitude will get you nowhere. There are many, many successful businesswomen - Carly Fiorina, for example - and others who've shone spectacularly in politics, journalism... many female owned businesses have made their proprietors wealthy. Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart. There's no one keeping you down but you. If you really think that being nice, baking, or making coffee is going to hold you back, you're a prisoner in your own mind. You seriously think men see you any different because you refuse to do these things? Think again. Sometimes you have to go along to get along. Smile, your face won't crack, I promise. Oh, and if the toilet broke or your car tire needed changing, I would be obligated as a gentleman to fix it for you. There's something very nice, very natural, about ladies and gentlemen, and not everyone wants to destroy that.

Oh my. My nose is in so much pain today! Apparently I'm not past trying to rip out my nose screw in my sleep! Ouch. I've woken up the past few nights having to push it back into place... I don't even take it out the whole way... So it's just hanging halfway out for who knows how long.

My coworker has been out on unexpected medical leave for over 3 weeks, with at least another 3 to go (if she decides to come back at all, she is near retirement age). I'm doing all I can to fill in and keep up with her work and mine. I'm so worried that EO will turn all this into a way to villianize me, ie "TRBL refused to help with x, y, & z" (instead of TRBL is working a, b, & c. She did e & f, but could use help with x, y, & z)

It's going to be okay, right?? It won't really happen that way, right?? Who am I kidding, she already said "TRBL, you refused to help with x, y, & z" to my face. I just need to make sure the execs know the truth.

TRBL, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that person. Keep ensuring that the execs and HR know how much you're really doing.

I really dislike that person on your behalf.

Prince William was never going to chose an illiterate council estate resident to be his bride. Stop being such a *****. You don't have to watch, you don't have to buy the tacky souvenirs, you don't have to celebrate. Stop whinging and let the rest of us celebrate a happy occasion amongst the the gloom and doom.

Please excuse errors,E I'm psoting on my phone

Saria & Ninja, thank you both. I'm sorry I complain about work so much here. I'm trying to not let her get to me, some days it works better than others.
