He's in the hands of a redhaired vet, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

Ugh, I got zero school done this weekend. Any time that wasn't spent at school or work these past three days, BF was glued to my hip. Don't get me wrong, I like him and all, but... Gosh, I'm really not the type of person who needs to see their SO more than like, twice a week. Let alone for hours on end three days in a row. I'm in serious need of some alone time to recharge. Why doesn't anyone understand this? Ugh.

Also, I'm trying to watch something on Netflix instant, and it keeps stopping to "adjust playback" because of my slow internet. I'm dying here! I just want to finish this fricking episode!

Started going through all of the colleges I've gotten mail from, and I realized that a lot of them are actually pretty interesting, even the teeny tiny ones.

Would it be stupid to pick a college just because of the city it's in? I am so enamored with Washington D.C. that I can't see myself going to college anywhere except there. I'm such a city girl at heart....

Nope. Go where you want to go. One of the reasons I picked my uni was because it was in a gorgeous area by the beach. But the course was also the top course in the country. Area is important as long as you don't completely disregard the course and what you'll get out of it.

Have you spent time in DC? (This is coming from a city lover, but NOT a DC-lover. I'm a New Englander at heart. I can't help it.) I went to college in a place I thought I'd LOVE and ended up pretty much hating it after just a few months. I stuck it out because I couldn't be bothered with reapplying, transferring, etc, but I strongly suggest that you try to spend more than a few days in a place if you're moving there because you think you like it.

I think lots of people choose Columbia or NYU because they love the city. It's better than people choosing a school that's known for lots of parties, which many people do as well.

Craig's List sure can bring out the crazies. My word. Can you please at least TRY to form a coherent sentence?

If you've already spent a good amount of time in DC and know you'll love it, then I say go for it. But, if not, I'd definitely think carefully about it! Obviously, it's also equally important to like the school you're going to. Even if you're in a city you love, being at the wrong school can be miserable.

My favorite old guy was at the gym today. He's traditional: white hair (thinning), horned rim glasses. Doesn't show much skin. He always makes me think of the Scopes trial.

I like him.

I spent a week there about a month ago, and I absolutely loved it. I'm going back for a bit more either this summer or in the fall, and I'm touring American and George Washington while I'm there.

It doesn't hurt that there's so much to do and so much of it is free. I love museums and zoos, and it's all free to go to there.
