Chuck Bass on GG totally stole his "I'm Chuck Bass" line from "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow, savvy?"
I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

Major drama as I just found out a few minutes ago that my sister just joined Facebook. We have issues, so I'm not quite sure if I should friend her or not. Bah.

I had half a mind to be a jerk and reject it.

Dear left-side of my mouth,

Please regain sensation soon. I know, the dentist numbed you. But, it'd be great it you could speed up the... un-numbing process. I have a lopsided smile and it's hard to form words.

Kthxbye!

Tropical lace cookies: do you want a grating of nutmeg, a grating of Saigon cinnamon, or a grating of Ceylon cinnamon when you come out of the oven? What to pick, what to pick . . .
I'm voting cinnamon, which ever one.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
I tend to favor nutmeg, but I'm kind of digging the cinnamon slightly more, especially the Ceylon. Or maybe the Saigon. They're so different, but they both work so well!
Gah...I wish I was getting a cute-brand-spankin-new-nephew. All my nephews (10 of them) are between puberty and 35...no new ones in sight.
They grow up so fast, don't they? Look at this one trying to drive already!

Hadn't even turned two yet and he wants to be at the wheel!

I'm Ceylon. I like how it's more savory and plays up the slight bitterness of the rum in the cookies. The Saigon plays up the sweet caramel notes in the sugar.
Oh my goodness look at that cutie!

And since we are on the subject of cutie nephews, here is Charlie enjoying a cupcake:

Hee! Look at those puffy, puffy cheeks! He looks so cute and pensive. "Ode to a cupcake."
Hehe.... I love his cheekies!

He really liked that cupcake:

I swear he is evil-y looking at someone trying to get to his cupcake in this picture!

there is FAR too much cute-ness in this thread!

That's definitely a "if you even think about touching my cupcake I will cut you" look. Too cute!

Tropical lace cookies, I love you and your crispy, palm sugar, rum, and pecan deliciousness (though I must do coconut next time). I wish I had a bowl of ricotta to dip you into, or sour cream and strawberries!
Um.... pictures of yummy goodness please!

And I have the same look as my nephew if you don't!

They're not the prettiest cookies since they're just all caramel brown goodness. They're made with palm sugar (and light muscovado sugar because I didn't have enough palm sugar), rum, and nuts (or coconut), so brown is the theme. A hit of Ceylon (aka true or Mexican cinnamon) when they come out of the oven, so they're really fragrant. It's all about sugar as the flavor as opposed to just sweetness and the flavor changes depending on what type of semi-refined sugar you use (piloncillo, coconut sugar, or just plain brown sugar would all give the cookies a different flavor).
YUM! Delicious looking!

Yummy yummy yummy!

Now I'm craving tea made with Mexican cinnamon too....

YUM.

Those like amazing! I've only recently tried lace cookies and I'm a convert. I used to turn up my nose at non-chewy cookies.
