CL, I wish your father the best with what he's going through. {{{hugs}}}
And thank you! I'd be glad to share my hair (I totally mean that in a non-creepy way).
missbanjo, that is hilarious!

I hate this experiment. Submerged sample in solution for 10 seconds, run down 3 flights of stairs, take microscope picture, go back up e flights of stairs, repeat. My legs are tired.

At least now I know why I'll never understand string theory: the absolutely baffling math involved.
And probably a lack of science smarts, too (among other brain-related lacks).

Ugh, I'm so sick of my job and I am getting desperate for something new. But I feel like such an ingrate complaining when so many people are out of work.

What dumb, stupid people are advertising for jobs that never respond to me! They want me to be an "assitant" be "discrete" and act as a "liason." They want me to have outstanding English skills - HAH!
Stupid ass people: the words are assiStant, discreEt and liaIson.
I'm beyond frustrated.

I so sympathize with you. I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to CA because I've never been this miserable with allergies. Pretty sure I pulled a stomach muscle sneezing this morning. Maybe between the sneezing and blowing my nose I'll develop six pack abs? haha
My nose is on constant RUN and I've gone through an obscene amount of Puffs plus. We need a Costco membership stat so I can stock up.

I was like that when I moved to VA. Zyrtec saved me. Here in CA mine are manageable enough but some days....
It doesn't help that it's 100 degrees, humid, and I have no AC. The sweating AND watery eyes are just too much.

I've heard that eating local honey can help, if you can find some. Honey (not sure how close that is to you)
(if this has been proven to be bunk, please let me know)

DH and I just had a convo about this two days ago and I've been eating local honey on my toast for breakfast. It's so good I might just guzzle that little bear! That place isn't far at all so I'm definitely checking it out, thank you!
ETA I see they're only open by appt, boo!

I've heard it as well. There's a honey seller next to me at the farm markets on Saturdays and she sells gallons of it to families with severe allergies. They eat a couple of tablespoons every day and say their allergies are much better. I don't really have anything severe, just slightly sneezy/itchy when pollen counts are REALLY high - never enough to "treat," so I can't say first-hand, but I've heard great things.
ETA: She says it's most effective if the honey is from within 75miles of where you live.

There's always at least one honey vendor at the farmer's market in Petaluma (saturdays 2-5 and Wed 4:30-8 I believe). And actually, I just heard there's a farmer's market in RP now...might be worth checking out!

I'm pretty sure I saw a sign for a market in RP and we were definitely planning on checking it out.
