I have no desire to go to this boring weekly meeting today. My supervisor is really supposed to be the one to go, but I've been designated to go for the last three weeks because she's either been out or too busy. Bleah.

I love it that GMA is trying to turn Jenna Marbles into some sort of an anti-grinding activist.

Ouch, those were a poor choice of shoes to walk in. I knew better, but I wasn't thinking when I put them on, now I have blisters.

I can't stop touching my face, I didn't think wearing contacts would be this odd.

I remember when I first got contacts and I felt soooo strange not having glasses on my face, like I was naked! And I adjusted my glasses for the longest time.

Congrats on your contacts!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I hate back to school paperwork. Why can't they just ask if your information has changed?

Thanks spring! It was hard to get them on (doc put them in for me since it was my first time) but its even harder to take them off!!! My eyes like to try and close when something gets near it. I don't know if I'll be able to keep on with the contacts. Any helpful tips?

This was SUCH a huge obstacle for me, too. I waited years before even trying contacts because I am so incredibly squeamish when it comes to my eyes that I thought I'd pass out trying to deal with them. I actually got them in at the Dr's, but getting them out that night was a different story. They normally have folks take them out too just to make sure they're ok with it, but it took me SO incredibly long to get them IN they gave me a pass and I knew DH could help me get them out. Literally...he had to help and took it out for me the first night because I got so frustrated. I think I was worried I'd hurt my eye and that coupled with my squeamishness of TOUCHING MY EYEBALL *gasp* kinda freaked me out.

That aside, I eventually (sorta) got the hang of it and there are different methods. From what I remember I did the type where you take thumb and third finger and sorta pinch to remove it. I think there is also the method of sweeping it out, but I never mastered that. I highly recommend looking at some tutorials online, trying a few different techniques and see what feels comfortable to you. I vaguely remember holding my eye open with one hand while removing the contact with the other because I always wanted to close mine as well.

Sorry my details are less than detailed, it's been about 7ish years since I wore them and about a year and a half ago had corrective surgery so I no longer need glasses. If you ever, ever get the urge to look into that I cannot express enough how glad I am I got over my freaked-out-about-eyeballs self and had it done.

I'm sure there are lots of contact wearers here and you could try starting a thread about it if you're having issues getting them in or out.

Are you adjusting "ghost glasses" on your face (I still find myself doing this)?

And I get to do it again tomorrow for my younger son, JOY! Least I don't have to dig out all the numbers and crap again.

I swear, I dread seeing that manila envelope arrive in the mailbox the week before school......

Thanks, I've been looking at tutorials for a while now. I tried to do the pinching thing but I failed miserably at that. I had to do the "slide the contact to the corner of your eye and somehow take it out" thing. I hope one day I'll be able to afford eye surgery, I really want it!

I'm going to give it another go tomorrow, hopefully it gets easier...If not I'll start a thread. I'm excited because if I get the hang of this it means I can wear sunglasses and see!
