I got to spend a lovely weekend in the mountains with husband & friends, it was lovely. I thought the aspens would be turning, but they were all still very green.

Highlights:

Lunch

We ate dinner here

Then went here:

Then went here

We also ate here

We stayed here (the place where the teddy bear was invented!!)

I'm nervous and I hate being nervous. Seems any time I do anything new I'm nervous. Perpetually nervous.

Did I mention nervous? Ridiculous. Makes me disappointed in myself.

Oh, spring, I know exactly how you feel. I'm perpetually nervous too, even when I know it's ridiculous and I shouldn't be. Not sure what you have going on, but I'm sure all will be fine. Take deep breaths, it really does help.

It's okay to be nervous, I get nervous even when doing things I've done before. I have (in the past) been an avid bike rider (riding to work in the summer, putting over 1000 miles in) but every spring, the first time back in the saddle, I'm nervous. Can I hold a corner? Are my cleats going to stick? Is 15 miles too far right now? How's my balance? I guess I'm saying, you aren't alone springsy, and that you are a-okay in my book.

Thanks, Jaynee. Not that I want anyone else to feel this way, but it helps to know I'm not alone.

Wonder where it comes from, why we can't control it and why some people aren't bothered with it? I'd like to punch those people. (ok, not really...but I wish I could figure out how they do it! haha)

Deep breaths, thanks for reminding me.

Thanks everyone, it was a really great weekend! It's funny how many of my highlights involved food Saturday, just because we could, we stayed up all night just watching TV ("Suits" on On Demand - very funny show). We drove up to Aspen one of the days and hung out, window shopped, they had a street fair/farmers market that day, so it was fun just wandering around.

TRBL, you rock, seriously. I guess that's where the analogy "It's like riding a bike" comes from, eh? (I almost pass out at reading someone rides 15 miles..whew)

And speaking of bike riding...I haven't really ridden mine in about 4 years, but now we live in a very bike friendly neighborhood. A few days ago DH and I rode around the park across the street from us and when we got to a 4 lane street (just a neighborhood street, wasn't even any traffic coming!) he said in a very overly protective dad tone "Maybe you should get on the sidewalk, I don't know if you're ready for the bike lane" HAHA That man, he's so funneh. As you can see, since I'm here typing, I didn't die.

I recommend dog walking for nervousness. Not knowing what nonsense the baby is going to try to pick off the road and eat always distracts me from my source of tension.

At least for a little while.

All right. You talked me into staying. I hope I've done the right thing by agreeing.

As for you, Congressman, I thought your letter was b.s. You may represent a predominantly conservative district, but the region as a whole is democratic. I've never heard a whisper of your having "reached out" to the other party, and I recall when you ran a very ugly campaign that smeared an opponent rather brutally.

The White House got back to me a lot faster than you did. Maybe you were busy while on vacation.

I liked you very much when we met, but don't count on my vote again. I say "Bah, Humbug!" to your claims.

Sincerely,
An angry Ninja who not only votes, but works the polls.

Davin is being a Klingon today both in disposition (grumpy) and behavior (clingy).

I think there's something fishy about this study.
