Aw, even though I don't think we've ever seen this professor before who apparently taught a poetry class that Buffy took, this is a very sweet interaction the two are having. I like that college!Buffy legitimately cares about school. I'm going back to thinking that only Glory can come out when she wants to and Ben has no control whatsoever, because he's apparently been gone for two weeks and has lost his job over it. Poor guy. I hope this isn't leading up to a final confrontation in which Buffy finds that to kill Glory, she has to kill Ben as well. I'd rather see how Ben acts entirely free of Glory, if he has any odd cravings for red dresses and strappy shoes, etc. Oh, for heaven's sake, Dawn! What was the point of telling Buffy that nobody expects her to replace Joyce if you're just gonna do things like get her dragged in to act as parent in your school principal's office? And both of you, when you're talking to a kind and understanding principal about a kid who's been truant, your mind shouldn't be jumping so far into "ZOMG KEY?!" territory that you actually share a worried glance when she says Dawn's not "just a kid." I hope the principal doesn't lay into Buffy when Dawn's not there and stays understanding and kind.

Someone really ought to supervise Anya's research into what it means to be American so she won't absorb the ideas of (I'm assuming) internet chat rooms full of nasty prejudiced people. Why the hit to her likeability? She seems to understand that prejudice isn't nice from her protests at certain statements about demons. Is this just so we can have Xander be legitimately embarrassed by her after she's been cool and funny for awhile? I see no reason we should interrupt the funny for awkward lameness. Also, Xander's non-solution to this problem, his usual patronizing comment, is a much bigger hit to his likeability because what she really needs is to be pulled aside for a quick explanation of why such statements are wrong. I can't believe we were meant to see this as the correct response, which we clearly were.

Oh Buffy, I know Giles is your surrogate daddy and all, but he can't be "the foot putter-downer" with Dawn and you know it. It's been shown that he's not also a father figure to Dawn and it's unfair of you to ask him to be. Now why are you all mad about hilarity ensuing when your friends lay down in a triangle around Dawn? Granted, this is a weird way to approach geometry, but even if the random triangle-forming was entirely unrelated to her homework, your friends were the ones doing it, and you can't expect them to be automatic disciplinarians in your absence. You especially shouldn't be responding to Willow's unnecessarily nervous explanation of the game with tight-lipped "uh-huh"s and not listening when Dawn tells you she really was learning. Putting your foot down doesn't mean losing all sense of perspective to people not written by the mightiest warrior ever to strive against the forces of subtlety. Where did the restraint of "The Body" go?? Nuance: it's not just for mourning anymore.

Oh wow. "Don't worry, it's not like I don't have a life. I do - I have Dawn's life." I just...wow. Aw, no, don't get Willow mad at Tara! Especially not with this word-association method. They've all been plausible turns in the conversation, though, up until being "frightened" by how fast Willow's surpassing her in witchcraft somehow equating to her being scared that Willow's just going through a phase with her and will go back to boys soon. I don't get that one. I also don't want Tara being made to feel like she should be meticulous about her word choices to avoid upsetting Willow - I know she won't take it like that, but it is the impression I get of how this kind of argument works. Tara should get to keep all her mental energy for lines like "Sweetie, you wouldn't blow off a class if your head was on fire" and "Is that 'no' spelled Y-E-S?"

Dawn Summers, you've been established to have accepted that you are not to say you're not real anymore, so why are you throwing that in Buffy's face now? Just tell Buffy that this is not a "normal" level of guidance for a fourteen-year-old, or tell her that school is all you haven't been doing so you don't need a special chore chart that may or may not involve gold stars. Teehee, you still say "monk" like "honk." Ooh, so while you were gone, the principal told Buffy that she has to keep you in line or be found unfit to be your guardian. That makes sense. It's also something she should've told you sooner, since it's something a fourteen-year-old is perfectly capable of processing, but everyone seems to act like you're much younger, so whatever. HOLY CRAP GLORY NO TARA IS NOT YOUR KEY. I love Giles so much. "This, too -" *slams door against head of Glory's minion* "- shall pass." Doesn't miss a beat. Squee! ILU, Giles!! Why does this minion have the split demon voice? They never have before and he's not otherwise special. GLORY STOP SQUEEZING TARA'S HAND IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO CRACK LIKE THAT. OMFG BLOOD IS OOZING OUT OF TARA'S HAND THIS IS SO NOT OKAY MAKE IT STOP.

Glory stuck her hands in Tara's brain. Tara has been forcibly driven insane. I can't even process this. Thank you for humanizing Dawn as she tearfully tells Spike that she's caused all this pain so she must be something horribly evil. The jolt of going straight to an annoying or silly moment after that would've driven me mad. YES, GO WILLOW!! "I. Owe. You. Pain." Yes! So much yes! Shock her with your lightning and your black-eyed levitate-y awesomeness! I'm glad that the lightning caused Glory actual screaming pain, even though the rest of the attacks didn't work. They were SO cool, though. ("What's that, bag of tricks?" "Bag of knives." AWESOME.) She also was able to completely stop her in her tracks with her thicken-the-air-like-tar spell, which is good to know for future battles.

We can stop with this equating of Willow and Tara's relationship with Buffy and Dawn's. I like Tara so much better and love interests are not the same as siblings. Aaaaand now Glory finally knows Dawn's the key. I wish Tara didn't have to get crazied for it.

Yay! And yes, Warren being maimed this season would have been great.

Have some Concord grape galette with rye crust for your troubles:

Oh my word, I have that EXACT same conversation with my husband every. damn. night.

I couldn't stop right when some action was about to happen! Especially not when there would be a touch more Badass Willow to be had. Only enough to telekinetically throw Glory back, but that's still pretty freaking sweet. Whoa, Glory's never used this super-speed before, and there were totally scenes where it would've helped her out. What the hell, Joss? Either this is part of a "ZOMG KEY" reaction that makes her fast and makes Dawn so slow that Buffy has to carry her while running (more points for Buffy on that one), or this is you throwing her powers in as you go regardless of how well they fit with what came before. Hahaha! I like seeing Glory get hit by a truck! I also love that Ben is now cross-dressing in public. And that he appears to have been an agent in his return. Hey, one of the minions is female! Whoa now. Ben obviously knew all along what was up with this body-sharing bit, but he's been into protecting Dawn. Now he may be out to kill her first? What happened to "I would never do that to an innocent -"?

Heh. I like this exchange between the leader of this order of key-destroying dudes and Orlando, the guy who got crazied awhile back: "Your sacrifice will not be in vain." "Shiny." "Yes, I suppose it is." Their existence is now worthwhile. Aw, Tara, I love even your crazy lines: (while reaching for Dawn, who appears to the crazied as shiny light) "So pretty, can I have one?" Except for her error in judgment in crushing on Xander for awhile, Willow has chosen her love interests well. I'm glad that Spike's being understanding about Tara's state and so very unhappy that she's going through this internal darkness with all the other crazied people. Oh, yay, Dawn! Seeing you thank Buffy "for, y'know, pretty much everything," it's as if the show is mutating as I watch it and actually listening to my rants! Ha, very genre savvy of Buffy to respond to the arrow that came right after Dawn said "things can't get any crazier" with, "You know this is your fault for saying that, right?" I like that Tara looking out the window and going "Horsiiiees!" has now got everyone calling the order's mounts horsies. Why are they on horses and carrying crossbows, BTW? They're supposed to have descended from the ancient founders of their order rather than be those ancients resurrected, aren't they? Go, Anya, go! Whack 'em with that frying pan! Please tell me that spear went only as superficially into Giles as it seems.

Oh no! Giles has a big blood spot! NOOOOO!!! They gave Giles a big nasty wound! Giles is in pain whyyyyyyyyy. Giles, stop talking about how proud of Buffy you are, that's dying person talk and you are not to die, you hear me? Thank you, Ben, for coming to patch Giles up. The shared body with Glory is a bit of an issue, but still, you are nice. Hey, Dawn, are you starting to recover from your convenient amnesia pertaining only to this fact? Oh, damn, I was hoping you wouldn't do this, but I knew you would: "Kill the man, and the god dies." Blerg. Wait a minute - "a human baby boy." Poor Ben had to go through infancy, childhood and puberty with Glory inside him! That sucks so very, very much. Everything also sucks for Buffy and the Scoobies right now, as well as the order dudes who lie dead and dying on the ground. And yeah, Buffy's picked a helluva time to get overwhelmed, but I don't blame her. If Glory taking Ben's place and snatching Dawn after all this didn't do it, I don't know what would. Speaking of Ben, he said before that he became human to help/feel close to people, so he was something else and he is aware of his choices before being human...was he a baby with an adult mind? His situation is all sorts of weird.

I am getting my hair cut today. I had all kinds of hairdresser angst. First, I called the stylist who has been doing my hair for the past year and a 1/2. She is no longer there. So I call the salon where the stylist who is deva trained now works (she has cut my hair about 4 times, the last time being short). She is now in Boston. I made an appt. Then I kept looking at the web page for the salon iroc gave me. I called the Boston salon back and cancelled after thinking about when that stylist cut my hair short I was not overly happy with it. Then I called my current salon back and talked to the receptionist and she recommended a stylist I had seen on their website so I made an appt with her. Today at 2:15. I always keep telling my self if it is not great-it will grow back. And if it is not-I am going to the salon iroc recommended next time.

Keep your fingers crossed ladies that I do not come out looking like this:

I'm sure your hair will look great. And if not, you've got a cute fedora.
Wild-sasparilla, I was so impatient for you to get to these episodes, for Willow and her bag of knives alone!
I believe the explanation is that Glory is getting more control over Ben and so her powers are strengthening, though she's still nowhere near her full power level. Gah, this is sounding like Dragon Ball Z.
Once you're done with the season, looking up Glory comes up with a good Wikipedia entry that goes into good detail.
Both your rants contain bits that make me antsy in that "must not spoil" way.
My bicep and shoulders are still sore from that bodyweb class I did Thursday night. Not crazy about the class but it is a challenging workout, which I need.

I was so nice to you! I welcomed you into our family and treated you like you had always been my cousin, even though everybody else was so suspicious of you.

And they were right.

WHO THE EFF LEAVES THEIR HUSBAND AND THREE BABIES TO RUN-OFF WITH AN AGING "ROCK STAR"? WHO?

One day, you're going to wake-up and realize what you did and regret it.

I just hope the kids don't have too many issues.

It's funny because my aunt was telling my mom this as it developed and all we knew that it was a "rockstar" and that my cousin's estranged wife was going to the Grammys with him. We were watching trying to guess. "Is it Bruno Mars? Is it the youngest Jonas boy???"
Kayb and Saria, ((( )))

It seems like a lifetime ago, but I walked your shoes at your age. I never thought things would change either, but they did, eventually. You're both bright, intelligent, young ladies who have no limits on what you can achieve. You just have to believe you can do it. And when one door closes, a window opens.

Don't have good advice about men, unfortunately. They don't get any easier to figure out when you age.
