I don't have a clue about the damn crust. My best guesses are I didn't process it right, I have never had a food processor before. And I couldn't get it to go in a ball, so I added too much water. That was quite possibly my worst crust ever, and that is saying something!
If you didn't get it to a ball, you didn't use enough water. The amount of water is set in the recipe --- no guesswork. It will seem like too much, but you need it for proper gluten development.
The dough should be in a ball before you add all your flour, before adding the water. That's what's different and against the grain with this method. By adding your flour in parts, you are making an exact amount of the flour act as fat-flour paste, as opposed to guessing that normally occurs because you have to judge when to stop cutting in the fat in traditional recipes.
Did you check the article that goes with the recipe? There's a picture of what your fat and flour paste should look like, which is a clump. Then you add your remaining flour and process just to break it up. Take out and dump into a bowl, then add in water.

1. I hate when people are so sensitive

2. I really, really, really hate when people rudely stare. We were at a Mexican restaurant today and all of us walk in to our table (my dad isn't in town so it was all 6 of us girls and the one little boy). So we go to our table and the people at the table next to us just stare. The one guy says really loudly "I really hate to know how long it takes them to go anywhere." ughhhh

3. I started my period this after noon and then spent the rest of the afternoon chasing kids through a corn maze. Not exactly what I wanted to do.

4. I could really use some chocolate... or a Milky Way.

I really like Amy Poehler, but I wonder what she'd look like with less extremely blonde hair.

I am loving my new bra. Its pushing the girls up to new heights never seen before by man.(ok I'm exaggerating a little but it's great) I have also gained some weight like 10lbs but it's mostly in the right places. I'm finally getting a bootay.

Danae just wandered over, read my screen, and asked, "Why is that curly girl's name ninja dog?"

Also, I did the same process by hand. It's really about science de-bunking conventional pie dough wisdom and what it is cutting in the fat does and finding a more efficient, exact method that produces optimal results. The food processor stuff is secondary --- lots of (most) people these days advocate using it, but they're still using what is basically outdated and shaky science. So, think less about the food processor and more about what visual and textural cues as you work.

I saw it and quoted it in the thread, but it got deleted (along with my quote). It was directed at Springcurl as a result of a crack she made about something the poster said. I can't possibly summarize everything it said - it was very long and disturbing.
OK thanks. Things have gotten heated on nc.com, but I've never seen threats before.

I have. Lawsuits, and a general "you better watch out" directed at yours truly.

Haven't seen a death threat, though. Although I didn't see it, so don't know how it was phrased, exactly.

Hopefully, reports are exaggerated. Poster was banned, though.

Kayb, I hope they're okay!

--

I had a great time, especially once the girls left and the rest of the staff and I used the lasers and fog machine to stage light saber battle pictures, even if I sometimes felt a bit left out with all the "Physics girls do it best!" comments and whatnot. But I'm SO tired. I wanted to go hike the footbridge over that lake when my mom said I could come, but I am too collapse-y. OMFG my parents just got back and I got an immediate update on this situation and THANK ALL THAT IS HOLY I DIDN'T GO. There were SWARMS of mosquitoes that they had to run through and they got in their noses and mouths oh my GOD. As I said to my mom just now, I would've had nightmares for months!!! THANK YOU, FATIGUE. I TOTALLY <3 YOU NOW.

^^^ Just thought about it a little more and I'm pretty sure running through swarms of mosquitoes would haunt me for the rest of my life. *shudder* I'm all itchy and twitchy just thinking about it!

I told her it's because ninjas and dogs are both cool, plus it's funny to think of a dog ninja. And she'd love that avvie!

Basically TanyaJolene threatened Springcurl and I believe others. She said whenever she hears about a school shooting she "raises her glass" because she knows some no good bullies got what they deserved. And that Springcurl should be afraid of the things she said to her in pm if she knows what's good for her. And Springcurl better watch out because one day someone is going to get her. She sleeps better knowing someone will, but who knows....Maybe she will be that person. Because she gets very angry, and people like Springcurl make it hard for people like her to control themselves. Oh, and she takes comfort in knowing that Springcurl will die a horrible death.

You know. Your average death threat by a very ill person or a troll. It went on for about 4 or 5 extensive paragraphs.

Glad they locked it and banned TanyaJolene.

Whoa, I had no idea! Definitely the diatribe of a disturbed mind at work. Good riddance, though we likely haven't seen the last of her. Lends new perspective to her "difficulty interacting with people." Health condition, eh? Ya, I'd call psychotic neurosis a (mental) health condition. Sorry she flipped on you, Springcurl.
