Is it wrong I wouldn't mind workin' behind the mail cart? I think it might be kind of fun.

It sounds like your office is bigger-slash-slightly better organized than mine is, TRBL. When we get mail, our receptionist walks around and drops it on our desks one at a time. The mail cart makes me think of the sandwich cart on Mad Men. Oh... how I'd love a sandwich cart.
It must stem from my love of sorting and organizing things.

Mom tells me when I was little and we'd go to Sears at Christmas time I'd organize the little bins of ornaments they had on display and I sort of remember that.

You'd think my house would be better organized.

Now I've gotta go put something in a bin or rearrange something.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Heh.. I'm not what I would consider an organizer, but I like things that are: completely random or completely symetrical or very asymetrical. If things are just a little wonky, they need to be fixed.

I straighten pictures in restaurants or other people's houses. I was just at Penney's and folded sweaters that were messing up the pile. : )

If my friend and fellow rescuer don't kill each other on the drive to and from Detroit, it will be a miracle.
Ah, somehow I didn't notice that some way I got two pints of grape tomatoes rung up with my stuff. I don't know how they ended up anywhere near my stuff. I didn't do the math in my head for what I bought, just knowing it would be some $20. The grape tomatoes added another $5 to that. It's less about the money and more about not wanting two pints of tired, out of season grape tomatoes. But it's cold and raining and I don't feel like going back out to explain that this stuff isn't mine.

I decided to replicate the coffee cake muffins we used to have at Soho House. I loved those things. Batter, a teaspoon of jam, sifting of cocoa powder, batter, bake. Once out, sift powdered sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon over the tops. The cocoa, cinnamon and jam just make the most perfect combination. I figured I'd try a buttermilk muffin batter since I wanted to use up my buttermilk. I was pretty certain these weren't true muffins --- that they were made with the creaming method. And I'm sorry, anytime the creaming method is employed, that's not a muffin. Banana "breads" that start with creaming are banana cakes. I refuse to cream to make a muffin. So I made a batch using the blending method --- true muffins, of course the difference is obvious and quickly confirmed that those muffins at Soho House were cakes. Batter is different, and they bake up with the characteristic crumb of a muffin as opposed to the tighter crumb of a cake (which the Soho House muffins had). Plus they get more of a rustic top than a cake.
Decided to make a batch using the exact same ingredients and quantities, but with a compromise --- the one bowl aka quick mixing method. This method is a cake method, but produces an even more tender crumb than cakes made with the creaming method and obviously produces a tighter crumb than the blending method. Since it involves rubbing the fat it, there's no waiting around for it to be at just the right temp as with creaming. So, it's practically as fast as the blending method, which makes it more acceptable.
And sure enough, the difference a method makes. Batter was different consistency than the first and more like the Soho House one. Tighter crumb, smooth tops, moist and cake-like just like the Soho House "muffins".
I've got it and I don't have to break my no-creaming for muffins and quickbreads policy!

Isht.

This is going to be a whole lot costlier than we realized.

The vet was cheap, though.
Kayb, mon ami, did you get my PM?
